As the first child in the family and meanwhile, dad was not usually around during the week, I was always with my mum in the corridor kitchen. So as early as my primary school days, I could do both lafu(white coloured amala) and amala dudu(brown coloured amala). I can prepare most types of swallows the likes of pounded yam and fufu which we're not used to in the family.

As a bachelor, I cook even with my stressful job. And when eventually married even when wifey isn't heavy, I'll do it when the assistance is NECESSARY, not always.

Its no biggie doing such a thing for the mother of my unborn kids.

But I don't eat pounded yam so except the meal is meant for her alone..

House chores don't scare me one bit. Even with my tight work schedule at the moment, I still tackle these chores with ease on daily basis.
I grew up with very lazy elder siblings so as the last born in the house , I did lots of house chores...till i gained admission and moved out of the house

Guess its gonna come in handy in a few yrs time

Besides whatsoever a woman can do for me witout complaining, I can reciprocate
youre elder ones are either not on nairaland or they dunno your moniker. I will tell.

Story for the gods! Very few men can do this I tell you,by few I mean those brought  by very strict and disciplined parents! My brother-in-law does it cos his parents forced them to learn it while growing ! I have also dated guys who cook better than I do. My dad no sabi only boiling water! It's all boils  to good home training! Afterall'charity begins at home!

My dad did, my brothers do, they are all REAL MEN and fantastic cooks.

Any man who does not help his wife (especially when she is pregnant) is not a real man

Don't make excuses for your lazy @ss,fact is if you're brought up in a family where doing chores are normal everyday activities, you'll grow up not seeing these chores as a big deal..TEACH A CHILD THE RIGHT WAY WHEN HE'S YOUNG,WHEN HE GROWS UP HE WILL NOT DEPART FROM IT,for those of you that doesn't allow your children to do any useful work around house, just because you have maids, know you're not serving their best interest..

even women don't.
These days, you hear pasta this, pasta that, even pounded yam has been 'adulterated' for the lazy.....it's called poundo yam.

Mortar and pestle are extinct in the house of the lazy.

It's not imperative to always comment you know.

It's better to comment when what you have to put across is better than silence.
