Same thing I understood from the story. Oga probably didn't see it as a joke hence the cold reply. That doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't love or care for her.

The reaction by some folks here though. People don read deep meaning enter the matter.
It is to be expected bro..

It's also a wake up call for your wife. She needs to work hard to make her own money since her husband isn't working for her but his children. She shouldn't sacrifice or limit her career for such a man. Also, please bro learn not to say every stupid thing that passes through your mind!

Funny thread

@OP: Is your wife a house wife?

Pickabeau, you know what this reminds me of?

Your thread!

I think it's rather funny that the same people who thought that was a bad idea are now applauding OP's POV, and apparent need/desire to "separate mother from child"(oh you know, ethereal nature, hallowed bonds, and what not).

Tstone1, why not go all the way, and take her (angered GF - and heck - all of womankind) out of the picture almost completely? I think you could possibly be a good candidate for this, but that all depends on how you feel. There's no hassle of accommodating a woman, just your future children smiley Do check this out, and lemme know what you think? I'm curious.

Read me, OP: www.nairaland.com/2077448/conception-possible-without-women-way

What was it about

Conceiving/Having 'future children' without women cheesy

If you don't intend, or want, to support a certain member of your family (just the 'future children', and not the mere 'toto' they come from), what better way than this?

It looks like the research may be of benefit to Nigerian men after all lol (seriously tho).

Anyway, I hope you're having yourself a good day. The rare afternoon nap beckons...

Hmm. And the same Op would argue day and night about being the Head of his family. What does being the Head entail? Why the seperation of wife from the kids? Why dnt you have your kids without getting married or being joined with a woman since you are working only for the Kids? Now the hypocrisy is glaring in this thread. Smh. No wonder nigerian marriages are in shambles! No organisation, no plans, no unity. Dysfunctional families everywhere. Tomorrow, the OP will open another thread to say his wife is building a mansion somewhere without his knowledge.

The truth is this, as a man, your wife comes before your children on any matter.

You works for the betterment of the society you live in. But as the head of a home, you earn to provide primarily for yourself and for all who you are responsible for. Any other is secondary.

Thats Nigerian Men for you. Most of them are working because of their children. The wives are just used for breeding purpose. After breeding, they can decide to chase you out, take the kids and bring over another.

Meanwhile during the breeding exercise, your job function is to eat, cook , clean and breed more.

Tufiaaaakwa.

Some of them are closet gay, only to closeeye, give woman belle, then continue their run away match.

Na you sabi.

Imagine, very insensitive.

Tufiakwa i say again

You couldnt have said it any better. No wonder most of them begin to misbehave once their wives become pregnant. As long as their wives have gotten pregnant, they have achieved their purpose on earth and they are free to roam like bachelors with different dirty girls!! Just give them a few weeks after the wedding, their dirty behaviour would start. No concern or regard for the wives. They do not even bother sleeping or touching their wives. They dnt bother to bond with them. Ashawo girls are given preferential treatment over their wives. That is why you will see all these dirty small small girls having the audacity to threaten their wives!! Very common with men who marry to please the society and for kids only. The Op is one of them. And the poor women who innocently marry these men would be wondering what went wrong. They would frequent this section for advice not knowing that they got married to men who married for the wrong reasons with the wrong mentality of marriage.

What I think most ladies are missing here is the point that working because of one's children doesn't stop the fact that the wife is automatically included. Making it a 'personal' thing by any woman to his man is quite uncalled for!
You hear most women after giving birth to say two children saying they are staying in their husband's house cos of the children
#weird but the fact#

Re: For Men Only: Who Actually Are You Working For? by dinachi(m): 4:30am On Jan 25, 2015
The best answer is to say you are working for your family. You are working for yourself, your wife and your kids..
But then where does feminism come in? Is your wife not supposed to be an INDEPENDENT woman?

All my aunts are all up and doing with various levels of success. So it is inbuilt in me, don't sit and wait for hubby oo. Have your own!

1. Nna, no such thing exists.

2. Womanology.

3. This is all women, not some, all.

Remember that little talk we had on women and logic? Let that guide your interaction with them.

Not all women, sorry to say it's prob women in Nigeria AND this is because of "gender roles". iF you are saying it's her job to take care of house, home and kids and you can only help out "when you feel like it", then yes it is your job to provide ALL as well and her only to chip in "when she feels like it" shikena.

You cannot have it all, everything cannot just be in your favor.

Not just a woman always being a woman bla bla bla...In the course of planing my wedding,my husband who I had dated for years surprisingly told me he had a house in progress,I was shocked, well,I said that's nice and I was like so u have been building a house for me and u kept it a secret? his response was "point of correction, not for u alone but for us all specially my unborn kids" I felt terrible about the statement and I told him I was sorry for thinking selfishly. But that wasn't right for him to have said, ofcourse he won't write his house in my name,I won't be the only one living inside,I can't claim the house tommorw without legal documents,so what's the fuss? my point is you don't have to make her feel her duty is to bear u kids alone. she's your wife and your manager, without her support your family will not stand firm.If u want to spend for the kids is she not the one u hand to money over to? so dear, you are working for your family with the support of your wife but you don't have to make her like she's not important. Apologise please.

But really that is a very funny statement to make, you could have said you are building a house for us. The woman set herself up for disappointment by saying working for her, I dunno it just sounds funny. She should've said working for her and their future children. Well maybe she is slaving away at home whilst he doesn't lift a finger to do anything at home. That's why she has that mentality.

Then she is right, you are working for her. Please give her that assurance oo. She is really taking a gamble, putting all her eggs in your basket! She is not building anything for herself and you are telling her the carpet can be yanked out from under her feet at anytime!

Earlier today an argument ensued between my woman and myself about how workaholic I have become in recent times. She later joked about me being serious with my job cos am working cos of her. I told her NO! And to her greatest surprised I let her know am working for the sakes of my children unborn not necessarily her. She became very angry and said she was highly disappointed by my statement.

I felt this shouldn't be an issue as have only spoken my mind. Your take on this please..
fact is thats every mans take, working for the children . but u sortof cut across as insensitive. even she as a woman knows that, the children is your reason for working, she just wanted the romantic notion or am important theme. its not what you said, its how you said it.
