Extend your search to Anthony Village...
The centrality and assessibility of this location is awesome. You can easily connect to the Island via Third Mainland Bridge (100 naira). ikeja is also five minutes drive (70 naira). Electricity here is 18hrs per day (guaranteed) reason being there is a mini power station closeby (@Maryland).
Criminal activity is practically almost non-existent and the environment is serene.
I moved into this area from Surulere five months ago and I have never had cause to regret the decision. Funny as it may appear I got the house via OLX (take caution). Met agent (now a friend), landlady and house same day and paid same day.

That's my Xmas gift to you.
is it possible to get a house where the landlord accepts 1yr rent?
Re: I Need A Flatmate by donigspain(m): 5:38pm On Jan 07, 2015
OMG!!!
I just met my agent friend five minutes ago while coming back from work. He informed me that he's got a vacant ONE ROOM in Anthony Village (3 minutes walking distance to Ikorodu road and Gbagada-Oshodi expressway.
Room costs 4k per month for Two years!!! (I can't believe it). A room here normally go for 6k and above. First come first served. I can't guarantee the availability of the room for a period longer than as I'm typing o!
I just have to post this for anyone who is interested.

I said ONE/SINGLE ROOM unless if you're referring to the general toilet and bathroom, in which case, I don't know the state of sanitation. I am NOT an agent neither do I have any financial interest here.

There's the third room with a toilet to itself but with shared bathroom with one flatie, kitchen , store and parlour as commons. Payment per room per annum is N200k but requested rent is N150k for Seven months payment which is inclusive of comm. Interested females should call her directly on 08052171500.

Pls only easy going female folks should call her, my room is closer to the vacant one, abeg.

When are you inviting us for your house warming party wink
I'm happy that you have finally settled in.....what location is that again, hope the environment and power supply is up to your expectations?

I have not intensified my search in a while but the few offers i got have very ridiculous 2 year rent rates and commissions lumped up together.
I just have about a year or so to spend in lagos, so they have not really been realistic.I'll prolly look towards the shared flat option if the rooms are ensuite and housemates are sane and evenly distributed, genderwise

grin grin grin good call. Thanks for your well-wish. You may have to extend your search to olx, its quite the search ground. LOL again about the qualifiers for prospective flatmates. Good luck

well masked Gender discrimination grin....lol
I'll extend my search to olx, so how do you split your light bills and kitchen use too embarassed

#Im learning biko
Re: I Need A Flatmate by Nobody: 2:55pm On Feb 03, 2015
We each have our cooking gas and split the electric bill into three equals. Cos of the size of the parlour, there's enough space for Ten fridges so each can have hers. We can't keep track of consumption cos the meter was stolen long ago thus we have been getting a fix estimate. So, each room can bring a bulb or go the whole nine yards, same bill.

Now that's a thought in progress. Neither of us have thought about gen(ing). Inverter na long shot as both us girls ain't that rich. We will address that in the future...the downside of our kind of collabo. How much is the cheapest inverter set?

You could get a 0.8kva or 1 kva inverter for about 30-50k, a good deep cycle battery costs about 50k or more...the overall setup should be more than enough to power basic appliances in your room for at least 8 hours daily, but a part of your room will look like a physics laboratory cheesy

Emm....i'm a freelancer hence i usually need power for my laptop and maybe the AC/fan for at least 15 hours during the day...hope we'll be good housemates, if we split the bills equally ?, embarassed

But noise pollution and electricity costs are pushing me to get an inverter and rechargeable fan lipsrsealed
