zukasteve , DerKaiser and all of you attacking Sirshymexx are actually the ignorant ones here.

He made a valid point. Only few drones can carry anti tank weapons because of the payload weight (They are usually deployed on Helicopters, APC or in person). Apart from the Hell fire missile used the the predator drone, there are few drones capable of doing the same.

Now its either the "drone" in the video is hitting a normal vehicle or the title of the video is not real.

It looks more like a surveillance drone and the explosion looks more like an IED. Even anti tank missile wouldn't have that huge explosive radius on a tank and a tank cant be as fast as it was seen in that video from that altitude.

No, that shymexx guy is a bloody retarrd. Zukasteve, derkasier et al, made very valid/sound points.

The VBIED had a secondary explosion after the initial projectile from the CH-3A hit the jihadist vehicle.

The CH-3A carries two AR-1 ATGM's. The flow of debris moving forward also shows something from above and not a tank shell hit the VBIED.

It's a simple matter really.

Good lord, see the level of dumbness and ignorance displayed by NLs on this thread. ok we have drones capable of executing what u saw on that video and that was our drone in action. find time and visit yola or maidugri or put a call to any of your friends that stay in that location and ask them if they have seen drones take off from our airfields. additionally, please always endeavor to confirm your facts before coming on net to disgrace yourselves. if the west wont sell us drones, the Chinese are ever willing to do so. you guys should not kill me with laugh at your display of dullness and ignorance. some one even said that a tank killer missile will be too heavy to be carried by drones, kai naija guys with loud mouths

LOl grin. This is not Borno nor Yobe nor Adamawa, certainly not the far north of Nigeria just by looking at the terrain and vegetation. Fake video by desperate PDP. If Nigeria Airforce sabi use armed missiles then why has Boko Haram been so successful at claiming territories and moving in convoys without being challenged.

And yeah, I never claimed to know the full arsenal of the Nigerian Army, but I know that they have surveillance drones they they allegedly bought from Israrel because they announced it when they bought them. So based on that, I don't know them to own armed drones. There have been no information whatsoever of Nigeria manufacturing, buying nor leasing armed drones from anywhere.

And you may want to ease up on the insults, me and you no dey drag woman..

Re: Nigerian Airforce Drone Strike Shatters Boko Haram Tank (video) by zukasteve: 10:58pm On Feb 09, 2015

The topic clearly states that it was a boko haram tank which is very false.

Now AR1 missiles on CH -3 drones are armed by TV guided missiles which means that can only hit precision stationary targets. The AR1 cannot handle other types of guidance systems because the radars are usually too heavy for the drones to carry. So there is no way to put a heat seeking missle AR1 on a drone.

Now when you say that an antitank missile can have a huge explosion like that if it was propped up by inflammables, that can be true but it was clear that the target in the video had one direct impact. A situation that would lead to that kind of explosion if it was an anti tank missile will take several seconds after the first hit for other inflamables in the tank to fully explode and not the first hit since most antitank missles have very small armor penetrating radius
your just messing your own argument up. if there is no way to put a heat seeking missile on a drone then what do you put on it?

Olodo. What do you know about military hardwares? Pathetic armchair military analysts and failed wannabe rapper.

Do you have any idea what a target lock means? Drones and Jet fighters do not need to keep their crosshair on a locked target to hit it.

They acquire targets electronically and then let off the missiles which follows the targets using heat-seeking technology.

The crosshair following that vehicle was just monitoring its movement until the missile hits after which you can clearly see it retract its surveillance camera.

Use your brain for once sometimes before making silly comments or ignore topics you have no idea of.

Err, show me when the coordinate was on target in that video, and when the target was hit.

In case you don't know - the focal point is the circle within the coordinate, failure to do so, means ya accursed life would be verbally murked tonight. grin

Heat seeking missiles for ASM? - bwahahahaha. Or laser guided?

You're a stalk illiterate! And when did I ever tell you I was a rapper? grin Freaking bum!

That is not what i said. Read what i wrote again maybe u will understand.

Missiles have different types of seekers, from heat, TV, laser etc. and the type usually decided the weight of the missile. Not every missile on a drone needs heat seeking capability.

Now, it's obvious you and ya goons are trolls. I won't do the mum tosh with you tonight - today is ya lucky day. However, provide answers to the following questions:

1). When did laser-guided ASM (air surface missile) become heating seeking missile?

2). How do you hit a target, when the focal point of the coordinate isn't fixed on the target?

3). When did Nigeria acquire CH3 drones cos the one that apparently crashed in naij belongs to Pakistan, and how it got to the country is still a mystery?

4). When did AR-1 become a tank buster (I need specifications and proofs, not illiterate talks on the internet)? The CH3 drone isn't even big enough to carry an anti-tank missile.

It's funny how a troglodyte like you thinks he can educate a vastly exposed & knowledgeable guy like myself....... Lol It's just laughable.

I'm really tired & in no mood to respond appropriately to this diatribe... However, the simple fact you must accept is that; Nigeria completely lacks the needed technological advancement & infrastructure to deal with the complexities of drone operations, this is an irrefutable reality.

These aren't the paper kites you fly in your backyard, these are unmanned arial vehicles loaded with missiles, no country in their right mind will sell Nigeria drones, doing so will be akin to handing a 6 year old child a grenade.

Sort out the basics first, like electricity, good roads etc before you start dreaming of belonging to the big league.
