campusflavour: Indeed, I am not surprised. The gods of the land are angry with Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution. On a more serious note, someone has obviously gotten so frustrated by the whole Electricty palaver, that he/she has gotten fed up and appealed to the gods for help. I don't blame them. When I was doing a course abroad once, the company responsible for supplying me with water accidentally billed me again.....when I had already paid up for six months(and my time was not up yet). It took a few phone calls, as well as me mailing them a bank statement...for them to withdraw the bill, with apologies.(And the apology started from the first call). Now...if I tell you the story of my dealings with the Nigerian equivalent for light.....(Hint...we will be here all month!  )Nigeria has a serious electricity supply problem After millions of naira spent on power supply....we still do not have light 24/7....and we have the Minister of Power callously telling us that he never promised better light...when he did. Even now in parts of Abuja there is no light for hours on end. Imagine the rest of the country. I am afraid that GEJ's transformation agenda has not reached the power supply. And I think it is high time Nigerians demand better from their utilities and from the people who lead us. Because I won't want to face the wrath of God, Allah or the Deities of our land. And neither should they too. It is high time Nigerian leaders learned to keep their contracts with us. Seriously. 1 Like |
