Patchesagain:

Basically, in the army, multiple people in the same unit wearing multiple unfiroms is just not done.

Uniformity is the order of the day - it is a mark of professionalism and discipline.
And what exactly tells you the guys were from the same unit ? Look, this is a non conventional war, we need to adapt ourselves to a situation in which the ennemy impersonate soldiers. Your comment saying "it is a mark of professionalism and discipline" is moronic. Let me show you 3 marks of "professionalism and discipline":

Strategies of war are not a constant thing, they are in constant evolution. And as Sun Tzu said, you have to do what the ennemy expects the least. Also notice that all these Nigerian soldiers are wearing the same uniform. Now can everybody start acting like adults who know how to read ?

Nigerians march in support of their troops concurrently in Abuja and Lagos.

Abuja Photo.
Wait untill someone starts pointing out that they were not all wearing the same brand of shoes.

Amisom

Djioubiti, troops for Djibouti in somalia.

Fun fact about the tiny nation of djibouti. Djibouti is home to one of the largest U.S and French Special operations bases outside each individual country.

You are two stubburn to hear reason. How does using just one camo help you to recognize your guys while the ennemy can also wear that same camo ? And in this case it is an ennemy which tends to impersonate your guys. So how does having only one camo help ? I really can't debate with you since I lack time and you lack imagination. Look at it this way: your army has three different camos and each soldier is provided with all camos, then you install a dress code which changes in function of the day and the unit. Therefor, you reduce the probability of being impersonated by the ennemy.

How does haveing more than 1 cammo stop your enemy wearing your uniform. More so that Nigeria does not even use unique cammo.

Honorary post.

My ideal vehicle for urban COIN operations were IED/VBIED aren't so much of a threat. A light, fast, adequately protected, cheap vehicle that can be easily deployed.

Apparently the Egyptian military already agrees with me.

Police intervention rapide. They are a police tactical unit. The Galil they are using is the ACE version.

The Galil ACE and CTAR-21 are the preferred rifle for most African special forces units. Only Kenya use a different weapon (FN SCAR-L).

To limting for the military. Paramilitary or police are Ok, but military needs to have AFV that can operate in any environment.

The military doesn't need an AFV in the middle of the city. An MRAP in the city is even over kill.

IFV's, AFV'S, MBT's and MRAPs should be used in operations outside the city, excerpt if there is a substantial threat on the city, the military can then roll out the big guns.

It makes no sense having tanks in Abuja as a deterrent when actual operations are in maiduguri.

On this issue, we would continue to differ. In my opinion MRAPs aren't required in the city. Outside the city......... no problem.
