Can Madness Be Heriditary? by Rapmoney(m): 12:02am On Mar 19, 2015
I saw a young man recently, who was walking the street unclad...mere looking at the appearance of this dude showed that he was going through some mental torture!!! A friend of mine told me that he knew this guy way back, when he was still normal...intelligent and groovy then. All of a sudden, he lost his sanity. Makes me wonder what happened and why do people lose their sanity

Some persons, both the learned and non-learned, have attributed insanity to weed smoking (drugs); some say it could be caused by spiritual manipulations, while others say it could result from medical conditions.

Now, what about hereditary? I have heard many people say madness could be heridary. How true is this? Does it mean one can get mad because someone in their family line (lineage) became insane at a particular point in time?

What makes people lose their sanity? Is it hereditary?

Please, your views and opinions will be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hear me out my people.... the spiritual controls the physical. Those people you see roaming in the street today as mad people are not necessary mad..... wat I mean by that is that their mind have been taken by demons and evil powers. Take them to the best psychiatric hospital in the world they will remain insane or become lunatics. It's called 'pattern of the blood line' that's why you see the sickness which kills the father is coming to kill son, father became drunkard at the age of 20, so started drinking at the age of 20 also
It takes the Grace of God to heal and deliver them..
*drops mic*

Ftc anyways

It depends on the type of madness, the cause and what triggers it. But mostly are not.

I don't think it is hereditary...but I aint got proof.

Not in all cases is it caused by Cannabis sativa.

Spiritual attack is another angle we can look at.

Yes it is hereditary. Before one marries there is need for background check to ascertain whether madness runs in the family in igbo land so it must be hereditary

Most forms of psychiatric disorders are hereditary in some ways. There is always an history of it somewhere in the patient's family history.

How is this related to the topic? You are talking off-point. Remember, we are discussing insanity here. Should we make you a case study? cheesy

There r lots of connections between genetics and mental illness just as we inherit some traits like colour of eyes hair etc so can we inherit some diseases like madness, sickle cell etc.Though not all cases of madness are hereditary

Hmmmm... Well, its true that there are a lot connections between genetics and illness.

Psychosis and Psychopathology...hmmm... So that means there's 90% chance that a person who is mentally unstable can give birth to a normal baby?

There are many causes of madness, family blood is one of them because I have seen it. But if u know for instance that it now runs in your family then u have to be more careful than others to avoid adding another factor

As far as I can understand stress is one of the principal reason why people lose their minds. If one's attitude and expectations do not match the reality on ground, one can go through torturous mental stress that leave one prone to mental break down. Of course drugs can also leave one prone to possibility of loosing one's sanity. Being insane means leaving out of tune with reality, often times those who live on drugs live in fantasy world and thus can't relate well with the normal world creating stress for them and their environment and thus disrupting relationships.
As for the hereditary aspect, we all as far as I know are products of social conditioning. We learn everything from our parents and others close to us. Let say a mad man and woman gave birth to a child and they are the only contacts he/she has as he/she grows up, possibility that the child will turn out to be like his/her parents is very high. Our upbringing shapes our lives and determine how well we will relate to our normal world. Inproper upbringing can leave a child prone to mental breakdown as the child grows up and needs to relate with the world.
That's my own little understanding. Psychologists and psychiatrists in the house can enlightn more.

I won't say 90% it depends on whether the gene for madness is dominant or recessive. It also depends on how frequent madness affects the family.I will put it at 45% chance
