This post is a textbook example of ""girls don't know what they want""....you have a good man n u wondering about his height! You find a tall man and you will say he may be a cheat!! At d end of the day, God will deliver that baby to you, whether short or tall.

I am responding late,@op your fears are real. Most of the people commenting are not married. I am and I know it will matter later in life. Do not give your kids a disadvantage position,your love for each other will fade with time and reality will set in,you will attend church,birthday,vacation etc together in 10 to 15 years time then you will know what you have done, i speak frankly because I know,you may now know how you became short? It was the decision two lovely lovers made years ago,do not make the same mistake rather pray with faith for a better and taller man. May God grant you the grace to carry on.

You don't need to worry except the gene of shortness run in your family as well. My dad is 5 ft 5 and I am 6 ft 0 (the shortest in my family ), the rest are 6 ft 2, 6 feet 5.

Don't be scared, height shouldn't be an issue. Make sure your kids take enough milk.

It does not simply work like that your kids would be short.Look around his relations to ascertain if the gene is dorminant in their race.

I have not read all the responses , so pardon me if I repeat someone's views. The first question you asked is whether your height and your husbands height will affect the height of your children. The answer to this is yes, genetics is a strong determinant of the height of the offspring . But genetics also extend to grand parents and possibly even further up in the family tree. It would be interesting to know if your parents and your suitors parents are short or tall.
The second point is that height of the child is not entirely determined by genetics. Health and nutrition, standard of living and quality of life affect children's hight very much.
Another independent factor is of course mothers health during pregnancy affects the baby's growth in the womb and small babies tend to be small adults ( taking into account that catch-up growth occurs in infancy ).
It really depends on how desperate you are for tall children. But with the given heights some of your children will almost without a doubt be short. But remember there have been more famous short people in the world than famous tall persons.
Napoleon Bonaparte, Lord Lugard, Sani Abacha, Nasiru El-Rufai and of Prof Osinbajo ( my VP) are some of the most remarkable great human beings who were not tall.
Don't forget that Jesus had Zacchaeus of Jericho who was short and Muhammad (SAW) had Abdullahi bin Mas'ood. Both short but great men in history of religion.
