Anything worth achieving must always have its snags, because gold medals are not really made of gold, rather, they are craved with sweats, determination and a hard to find alloy called guts.

There are dreams and there are realities and the distance between them is determination.

But what happens when life brings out the big guns?
Even the most wilful soul flutters.

That is all what Fate needs: Doubt.

For to contemplate is stare into the shadows, it stares back at you and Eric stared at his shadows just too long.

He stood with his 'perfect' half at the edge of sanity and despair as he stared at the piles of his decimated dreams.

Ugly Fate poked at his emotions.

All the days of man are few but filled with many sorrows, so says the Holy Book, and Eric was starting to become a believer.

The child he had come to love and the woman he never truly forgave, both had boarded the next available train to meet their Maker leaving him with a sac of throes and an equivocal future.
It wasn't the first time this dubious fate, like a Lion, robbed of its cubs, had lynched his feeble mortal heart with implausible assaults, only this time, it was strong enough to make him vacillating.

The sun was as honest as pain itself, and all he saw were piles of burnt rubbles and down trodden dreams, for the house he had once feared had been ravaged by an unrepentant flame.
He was suppose to be happy but for evident reasons, he lost his peace.

The report was, the night before, both mother and daughter had being injected with a heavy dose of deep slumber and neither could conjure the possibility of a sneaky, scheming, shifty, tricky, wily, insidious fire outbreak.
The unseen hands of fate submerge the magnificent building into a cauldron of angry boiling flames.
Hell became empty for the whole devils came out to play, and before anyone could waltz in to rescue both damsels, the occupants had suffered denunciation from fate ugly hands.
They were reduced to ashes on the spot where they laid.

The best form of conquest is to pulsate your enemy to an irrevocable submission, and Fate had employed this knowledge; for neither could Mrs. Grace or Karis remains could be gathered for a proper burial. Even their very bones were fire-woods for the gods.

Fate giggled as it watched Eric sunk into the pile of the rubbles and smiled as it watched him weep.

That's what Fate wants from everybody.

Eric was tired, not for stress but for living. He became skeptic.

Sara rallied around him to cushion the effects, but no matter how much she tried consoling him, she just wasn't striking the right chords.
He felt disoriented, disconnected and discomforted.

He felt like giving up and Despair crept in.

Fate hurled at him its slugs of death as Eric thought of ending his existence.

Fate beckoned on the icy hands of death as Eric scanned around for a ticket to hell.

Death lurked seductively in the bright shadow as Eric pondered on what to use to end his life.

Sara fixed her gazed on Eric as he frantically searched for an unknown lost instrument of death. Anything sharp and piercing would suffice.

Fate sat on the edge of its seat and the silent heavens folded their arms. The birds stopped talking and the wind could only pause and stare.

Then Eric found something.
