Please I want to beg all those who voted for Buhari to pray for him everyday. There's a lot of negativity going on around him in Nigeria right now. People want him to fail woefully just to say 'I told you so'. They don't care that it is Nigeria that is going to fail woefully. And I'm sure things have been put in place just to make sure he fails. I prayed for GEJ, so I'm also going to pray for Buhari. He needs our prayers be you a christian or a muslim. Nigeria is ours. Whatever our leader does, rubs off on us all

Its not about hatred. In 1999 Obasanjo became President because of the need to compensate the Yorubas for the annulment of Abiola's election. For him to win, he needed a VP from the North (to get votes). If he had picked an Igbo person, the North would feel grossly marginalised. It will mean two souther candidates. In 2011, power went back to the North and Jonathan from a Southern minority was picked. The rest is history. So there was no deliberate effort to deny the Igbos the Vice-Presidency. However the just concluded election now will make it difficult to have an Igbo President or Vice President too soon. For a long time, it is the Igbos and Hausas aliogning to edge out the Yorubas but this time now the Yorubas realized they cannot win the Presidency or VP slot without aligning with the Hausas. The Igbos should not have allowed themselves to be left out of the alignment. They staked all their all on the incumbent and forgot the weight of Northern votes. So its not about the civil war. Its about playing dynamic politics. The Igbos should have sacrificed Jonathan in the interest of their race. They should have prevailed on Jonathan not to recontest and allow the North to push forward their candidate with an Igbo man as VP. That would have split the votes in the North and gotten block votes form the SS and SE.
Must a candidate come from the north? I look forward to the day when both major parties won't have a northerner, let me see if they won't vote or cause problems.
Thanks for presenting your argument in a civic manner, we all want the best for the country regardless our differences, I want a country that I'll find better than when I left it, I may not believe in the general but Nigerians have decided and I respect that.

That is a curse bro. Please tell me that is not what u implied. If life becomes miserable for us all during Buhari's administration it wouldn't be because he didn't mean well or tried, it would be because of statements like this. Let's not start this government with negative words. Instead let us pray that God may give him grace to bring government closer to the people and fulfill his mandate. May we all experience showers of blessings.

to be completely honest this whole election process should not be over without we the electorate giving our thanks and sincere appreciation to INEC and its officials. from the polling unit all the way to their incorruptible chairman. they didn't have it easy being in the middle of the most fiercely contested election ever in our history.
if u notice jega and his PA are still wearing yesterday's clothing. meaning they have been working for nearly 48 hrs.
so thank you jega and GMB for making me know that integrity still exist.
And gej thank you for doing something that was surprisingly pleasant and gentlemanly.

Funny how when I was a kid I used to believe it happens when something happen. Like when someone die etc. No one tell me so I dont know if it is a general superstition. My cousin and I just come to the conclusion because we do notice it when things like that happens. Now whenever I remember those days I just laugh. Children and their curiousity.

All we can do at the moment is to give him all the support we can.

Its still on Nairaland that his policies will be assessed and rated.

God bless you for this comment. I've been seeing such hate comments all day. They've forgotten that everyone will bear the brunt of the curses they are placing on the poor man that hasn't even started his administration. It's amazing how Nigerians are praying for the country to go worse than it is already simply because their choice of a presidential candidate didn't win and for them to feel justified. Yet we always say e go better. What a pity
