Unidentified arsonists, the Baptist Church at Gidan Maso village in Rogo Local Government Area of Kano State has been set ablaze and the residence of the Pastor, Rev Habila Garba, burnt by irate youths.

During the incident which happened on April 1 at about 7:30 pm, one of the Pastor’s daughters died of suffocation and most parts of the house destroyed as a result of the fire.

The President of “Tarayyar Masihiyawan Nijeria” (Hausa, Fulani and Kanuri Christians), General Ishaku Ahmed Dikko (retd), told journalists on Tuesday in Abuja that the intention was to kill one youth, Yahaya Joshua, who converted to Islam but later on reverted back to Christianity.

The Baptist Church at GIDAN MASO village of Rogo LGA in Kano State was set on fire by youths of the Village on 01 April, 2015 at about 7:30 pm. The Church and all the properties were burnt down in the presence of the Christian Community despite all pleadings for them to stop the destruction. The arsonists gathered cornstalks and put inside the Church in order to cause greater damage. This made the action to seem deliberate and for ulterior motives.

The Christians present exhibited great Christian qualities by not taking the law into their hands by trying to stop them by force. Rather than the arsonist to see reason, they were infuriated which led to setting the house of the Pastor, Rev Habila Garba, ablaze as well. As a result of the fire, one of the Pastor’s daughters died of suffocation and most of the house destroyed.

They also attacked and wounded Bawa Adamu and Aminu Dauda, who received machet cuts leading to broken arms. Others received similar wounds but of lesser degrees.

While all these happens and will continue to is that nobody has been made to pay for it.In North, the general believe is that it is lawful to kill or destroy unbelievers (christians) or their property. It will continue to happen untill people in authority starts prosecuting those involved or the village head of the affected community is made to produce the perpetrators.

We have no option.. Nigeria must work whether we like it or not.. Let us teach our muslim brothers about the sanctity of human life..

see wat d stupid boy caused. Y convert to islam in d 1st place only to return bck 2 christianity knowing fully that muslims are selfish wicked and intolerable human beings who would come after him?
Now a church is burnt including the pastor's house resulting to the death of the pastor's daughter.
It is only the mercies of God that can save that boy or else, he should just consider himself dead.
What a religion!
ThankGod i wasn't born a muslim. Infact i'd rather worship a stone than convert to that blood-sucking religion!

Christians are not expected to kill and destroy, they are to preach Christ gospel about God's kingdom, love and save souls, help those in darkness and without hope to see the Wonderful light of God's salvation and know his truth. Old Testament law is no longer applicable, Christ has renewed it with the wonderful law of love through which hearts are purged of evil thoughts and wicked desires. We just need to continue praying for those UNBELIEVERS to be converted and conform to new life God demands of them.

The saddest thing is that even the PPRO of Kano state deny the attack. According to him the signal he got from the DPO was that nothing of such nature occurred. #Sad!

Following their success in annihilating Christians in Borno, Yobe and parts of Adamawa and emboldened by their new found "change" in conjunction with the new spread of Islam across the globe by the current "leader" in the West, the Islamists have launched yet another deadly attack on this Kano Christian clergy and his family.

Christians in the Middle Belt that have been a shield for the Southern Christians are the next, followed by the Southern Christians who the Islamists think are the easiest to get because of their "worldly reward system" kind of Christianity. Many of them are the most dismissive of the present realities, they are the first to tell anyone who cares to listen that their "change" was done without bigotry. To the Islamists however, their "change" is a license to carry out their agenda, to kill and subdue.

It's a lie though. The so called "Scene of the Incident" picture is from a 1996 Ozone disco club fire in Qeuzon, Phillipines. Google Images is your friend.

How are we sure the rest of the story is not similarly embellished?

A lot of evil trouble-instigators abound in Nigeria and the internet has quintipled the extent to whcih they can cause mischief. They are probably silently enjoying themselves now while you continue to insult each other.

At this time everyone has access to internet, no more time wasting to cover happenings around and post them to internet, newspaper's coverage of the same news is just needed for authentication in case someone might want to know how genuine the incident is, and to prevent wrong accusation of people or organizations as you have done here.
