I commend and salute those who are still corageous, positive and still in pursuit of NIS placement. I've been following these NIS trends right from the time of former CG Rose Uzoma and eventually became part of it but did not bother to re register my biodata for this present process. If a government is serious about employing the youths, will it do so at the tail end of its exit where the whole process can be overhauled by the incoming government? I am still optimistic about federal appointment anyway.

I believe that NIS, NSCDC, FFS and NPS would conclude every recruitment/replacement before the new government comes in.

both nis, nscdc, ffs and nis already compiled their list since 2013. so I don't know where you got your own info about last year. perhaps u are talking about second list.

Just thinking...if there is a list already then wats the point of all these process. Looks to me like these are all a cover up( as in shirtlisting, test etc.)To bring out the list. A lot of pple wif connections don't even have their names on the shortlist for test and you are sure they'll get their appointment letters.

Thats how comfidendent i was, during the last two Navy recruitments.
See, the NIS is not in charge of this recruitment. It the presidential "onething-onething" that is incharge.
Just do ur best and hope for the best noni.

Please house I need Ur candid advice...

if you are granted employment into both the NIS (pay 121k) and a federal polytechnic as an Admin officer (89k)... knowing fully well that on the long run u can have a masters degree and convert to lecturing.
also considering that NIS can post u outside Ur state but the Federal poly won't, what choice will u make...

Right there you've already chosen the right job for urself.....
.
.
Asking people what there will go for isn't gonna fit ur own choice of reasoning.... You're the only one that can tell what is best fitting for you.... Would you go for the NIS and be posted out? Or will you proceed with the little earnings and forward ur master thereafter?.... You know the answer thyself!

@ lionphil, It depends on what you really want. If you want adventure you may go for NIS then depending on the department or decision of your senior officers, you are liable to stay in the state headquarter's office, rural local govt area office, boarder outpost or as a passport officer in one of the Nigerian embassies. You are also likely to be transferred often. You are on a long thing if any of these places do not favour you. Remember the number of NIS officers who lost their lives in Boko Haram onslaughts. If you prefer a quiet academic environment surrounded mostly by students, with prospects for further studies, supervising your building projects and business ventures yourself, as well as staying with your family and friends, the choice is yours to make.

I can never be in your shoes.... I don't go by that adage... Becoz if I were in ur shoes....I would only do what pleases me and what I know is best for me... And what is best for me might likely not be the same thing that u'd go for... Note, we're different and we have different orientation and different way of living as well as the background...
.
.
And I can't avoid the fact that u're involve.... So... It's just for you to THINK... Whatever u come out with should be able to make u have a better future... As for me... I'd rather go for none!...IF I WERE IN YOUR SHOES!... Does that make any sense?

You make the education part look simple to go for... Most lecturers and their assistance attend all sorts of seminars...write all sorts of books.... Make hypothesis and go about collecting sampling techniques in order to be promoted.... This things aren't easy as a lecturer... @Lionphil.... If you must get a decent response to ur dilemma... Meet a lecturer seek for advice on this issue...also confront any NIS officer and do the same... Then sit back and chose the one that you think will make u more comfortable.... Capiche?

As soon as NIS start their camp training for new officers, NSCDC will follow suit. NSCDC have repeatedly stressed that they don't recruit. what they do is replacement and the list is already on ground since 2013.

Guy, NIS pays #135,000 and not #121,000. It's NSCDC that pays #121,000... guy, to lecture no easy o. if I were you i'd rather go for NIS because na uniform people they get respect pass without stress.
