I actually made the earlier correction in a lighthearted manner to play on words. It was NOT modified till after I had made my observation. The lie is most unnecessary.

Of course all of them are in the south west.

I can see your engineering prowess all over the place constructing red roofs in Ibadan and Oshogbo.

You Yorubas should start traveling to other regions to see how things go on there.

Stop been tribal. Ad far as I'm concerned, there is no University in Nigeria.

why? You may not bliv it, but its a very good school to study engineering. Our engineering graduates are proving thier worth in the industry. They are not paper engineers oo.

OOU? When there are far better schools like ABTU, UNAD/EKSU, UNIPORT?

There are many schools studying engineering but there are those more equipped, enhanced and have got better teachers than others.

This rank is based on different areas that make a school that studies the course engineering:

1. FUTA, ( Federal University of Technology, Akure. )
The school is really aiming high in terms of the technological and digital aspect of developing her students, in the school. They are also ranked first in COREN data list.

2. FUTO ( Federal University of Technology, Owerri Imo state)
The school is also making sense with respect to their technological aspect in teaching the students the benefits of technology.

3. University of Ilorin

4. University of Lagos

5 .FUTMINNA ( Federal university of technology Minna)

6. Obafemi Awolowo University

7. University of Benin

8. Ladoke Akintola, University of Technology

9 Olabisi University ( OOU)

10. University of Nigeria, Nsukka

Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa is even more equipped than many of the Universities listed here. I had my ND in Nasarawa and Degree in Minna and was really shocked that many University engineering undergrads cant even use a simple vernier caliper. Most of the things I did in the University after Direct Entry where things I had already learnt from the Polytechnic.

Perhaps we should close down all those non technical departments like Mass Comm, Public Admin and let Polytechnics concentrate on engineering, I changed to degree because no matter how good you are the Polytechnics HND is underrated.

The University did not really develop my creative ability further; I had to change my mentality after I graduated and got a job with an expatriate company and realised that I was applying more of what I learnt in ND than what I learnt in the University to the job.

I totally disagree with you sir. I'm a graduate of federal university of technology minna, civil engineering precisely.
university education is different from polytechnic education. in the university, you are trained to use more of mathematics, apply science and economics to solve infrastructural problem while polytechnics focus more on the practical part.

A degree older civil engineer for instance do more of design and analysis than actual construction but you can build yourself outside school to technologist and technician work.

Fut minna is a very good engineering school where you can actually learn if one is willing to put in the extra work required

there are universities in Nigeria.... the truth of the matter is that instructors and student are too lazy to put in the extra work required.
Nigeria schools are comparable to those in of India or Pakistan in terms of infrastructure and equipment but we have too many politically appointed professors and lecturers and too many lazy students in our higher institutions

and so what? Because you now work for an expatriate so I should throw away my B.Eng and swerve into a Polytechnic?

The instructors make up the university. A student is lazy because the instructors made them so. If you are a natural lazy student and you go to the UK to study, it is either you buckle up or you leave, Why? because instructors are not lazy. No up and doing instructor, no University because the quality of the instructors makes up what we call the "FACULTY PROFILE" which motivates focused students to apply for an admission in the said institution. so when I say there are no universities, I know what I am saying.
