JigsawKillah: What was Hazards contribution to the Europa cup win. He was just a passenger like Wes brown was to Man Utd when they won the Champions League |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by Ibime(m): 2:19pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
raumdeuter: Wes Brown was not a passenger in Manures UCL win abeg. He played well that season and all through that tournament. Mata and Ramires were the biggest passengers in Europa League final. Hazard was inbetween. The only ninjas who could hold their head high that day were the back four, especially Ivanovic, Cech, Lampard and Torres. 1 Like |

Ibime: RLC has a life-time experience in CM against Jordan Ibe of Liverpool and Musonda of Chelsea, not against Fellaini and Herrera It's not like there are heavyweights in manyoo's midfield though, but the profile of the fixture, the hype, the build-up and pressure are factors that may send RLC to the clinic. Zouma did a yeoman job in CM against Spuds and Westham, the kid is a beast. Azpi would earn a starting berth ahead of Luis at LB anyday. Presumably, LVG rolls out his crazy 3-4-1-2 formation, with Valencia operating as a RWB, don't you think the idea of starting Luis to exploit Mata would become useless? Man my buddies over here who have bagged in PHDs in betting are predicting a stalemate. Dey just dey yarn say na ''fixed draw'', and hell I phucking hate the parlance. Ask them who fixed the damn draw and they would tell you it's the Queen of England |

Ibime: Van de Saar, Brown, Vidic, Rio, Evra, Carrick, Hargreaves, Scholes, Ronaldo, Rooney Tevez. I would say Brown had the least contribution to the CL win Mata and Ramires were the biggest passengers in Europa League final. Hazard was inbetween. No let this your Mata hate turn to something else Hazard In Europa 1 goal 2 assists. None in q-finals, none in semi finals and he missed the finals Mata 1 goal 5 assists . 2 assists in the Europa final Which one of these two qualifies as a passenger? |

raumdeuter: Calling players names will not justify the passenger status you gave him. Wes Brown was superb that season and was no passenger. He assisted Utds goal in the final by dribbling his man and floating a left-foot cross onto Ronaldos head . . . . and was solid in shutting out Barcelona in the semis. He was a solid right-back that season. Malouda was the worst player on the pitch in the final. . . . so Brown musta been doing his job right. raumdeuter: Ninjas on this thread have told you to stop quoting numbers every second. Mata was a complete liability in the final. An indirect contribution for Torres' goal does not change that, nor does a corner kick for Ivas goal. He was the BIGGEST PASSENGER on the pitch just like in UCL final in Munich (even though you might tell me he floated the corner for DDs goal) Despite his "two assists", why did he score the lowest out of all offensive players in the ratings below? He must have really sucked @zz. Juan Mata: Superb long ball to Oscar nearly caught Benfica out early but after that pretty much disappeared as a creative force for Chelsea - 5/10 http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/400016/Chelsea-and-Benfica-Europa-League-Final-player-analysis http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/competitions/europa-league/10060397/Europa-League-final-how-the-Chelsea-and-Benfica-players-rated-in-Amsterdam.html http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/match-reports/chelsea-2-1-benfica-match-report-1891734 I dare you find me one player rating on the whole internet that gave him above 6/10. He was the definition of passenger in that final. 2 Likes |

Ibime: JUAN MATA (CENTRAL MIDFIELD) - 7 Seven out of 10 Phil's view: Always probing and trying to create, even when Chelsea's time in possession was scarce. Delivered the corner that led to Ivanovic's late, late winner. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/22548172

Ibime: WHo was Brown more important in that United Lineup run in to the final. I believe thats a simple question. Was he more important than any of those first teamplayers? |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by raumdeuter: 5:53pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
Ibime: Because I intentionally overlooked this goof. How was a Hazard who was absent an inbetween in the final? So again how was Hazard more important to the Europa league win to Chelsea? |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by coogar: 6:13pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
raumdeuter: you are wrong for saying brown wasn't important in the united line up to the final. he provided the assist ronaldo scored from. in the absence of vidic in the 2 legs against barcelona, wes brown played inarguably his best game in a united shirt. ibime is also wrong for saying mata was a passenger. the corners drogba & ivanovic scored from in the finals of UCL & europa league respectively was manufactured from the sweet left foot of juan mata. both of you have no retentive memory. 1 Like |

Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by coogar: 6:23pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
raumdeuter: every player in the XI is important. that is why they made the team in the first place. could we have won with 10 men excluding brown? the defence is actually the only department of the team where if a red card is given, you have to sacrifice a striker/midfielder to bring another defender in. it's the most important in the team especially when the priority isn't 3 points. our defenders had more importance than the midfielders or strikers. so at worst, brown would be 4th or 5th most important. |

raumdeuter: You are talking of names, we are talking of matches. 07/08 was Browns finest season in his rightful position (RB). He was not a passenger. He was one of the best players in the final, and borne out by his superb assist. Nobody carried him, he carried himself. QED. raumdeuter: Footballers are memorable for playing well or playing rubbish. Hazard is unmemorable so I assumed he had an average game. What was memorable though is who played well: Ivanovic, Lampard, Cech, Torres - all newspapers scored them 7 or 8. And what was also memorable is who stank out the match: Mata and Ramires. 90% of newspapers scored them 5 or 6. Believe you me, if we lost that match, Mata would be the NO 1 reason for losing that match due to the tactical instability he brought to the team because of the unbearable pressure on our midfield and defence caused by Mata being swatted aside like a paperweight everytime. He was nonexistent in the midfield, a 12 year old boy playing with men, the DEFINITION of PASSENGER. Cech and wayward Benfica finishing saved us from the tactical imbalance caused by carrying that passenger in midfield. It is the same story with Mata everywhere he goes, so I'm not making things up. The Europa final was one of those games he causes WAY more harm than good to the team. Pulling numbers telling me he had two assists means nothing. Yet he scored 5 and 6 in most Player ratings? He would have scored 4/10 if not for those lucky statistics on his side. Here is the first of Matas "assists". The second was a corner. Apart from that, we were playing with 10 men. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTTzOlnKj0A 1 Like |

CHELSEA STARLETS: WHERE ARE THEY? John Terry won Chelsea’s Young Player of the Year in 1998 and, as the banner at Stamford Bridge suggests, has gone on to become a ‘captain, leader and legend’ at the club. However, since the Roman Abramovich revolution, opportunities for young players have become rather more restricted as millions have been spent on established players from the Premier League and abroad. In the week that Chelsea’s U19s won the UEFA Youth League Final, we take a look at the 12 players to have won the club’s Young Player of the Year award since Terry and see how their careers ha ve unfolded in south west London and beyond… m.skysports.com/article/football//9805086 Read on and let's answer the question |

AirborneLacer:Chelsea are closing in on a deal to sign 19- year-old Nathan from Brazil's Serie A, according to Sky sources. The highly-rated midfielder broke through the ranks at Atletico Paranaense just under a year ago, but is already making waves in South America... What’s the story? Nathan turned 19 last month, and according to Sky sources he flew into London for a medical at Chelsea on Tuesday, with The Daily Telegraph reporting the fee will be £4.5m. With it currently being off-season in the Brazilian Serie A, the deal could be wrapped up before the end of the month, although sources suggest it could be sealed by Friday. The youngster, full name Nathan Allan de Souza, is rumoured to have fallen out with the Brazilian side after a contract dispute, allowing Chelsea to dive in. Manchester City were also reportedly interested, according to the Daily Mail. What is his experience? Nathan has represented Brazil at U17 and U20 levels, and starred in the U17 World Cup in United Arab Emirates, where he scored five goals and was included in the tournament’s best XI. He worked his way up through the Atletico Paranaense ranks, making his debut for the first team in May 2014, impressing as the Curitiba side finished eighth in Serie A. He played 11 times for his boyhood club last season, starting three times, but represented Atletico another seven times in the Paranaense 1 tournament, scoring once. What sort of player is he? Nathan’s most natural position is in an attacking midfield role, but he has also been deployed a second striker for both Brazil U20 and Atletico Paranaense. He is direct-thinking, strong with both feet but primarily right-footed, and is seen more as a provider than a goalscorer in his native land. His international partnership with former Paranaense team-mate Thiago Mosquito was likened to the great Brazilian double-act of Romario and Bebeto. Right-hand man Thiago told the FIFA website in 2013: "One day we might be like Bebeto and Romario or Ganso and Neymar, but right now our only job is to develop and grow because we are still young." How will he fit in? The decision to join Chelsea would make perfect sense for the youngster, given Chelsea already have Brazilian-born players on their books – Filipe Luis, Ramires, Willian, Diego Costa, Oscar, Lucas Piazon and Wallace. On the flip side, Chelsea’s use of younger players has come under scrutiny in recent years, the Blues only giving a total of 13 first-team appearances to players under 20 years old over the last two seasons. However, reports in Brazil suggest Nathan is already highly developed as a player, and would be given a full pre-season to fit in at Stamford Bridge ahead of next term.http://m.skysports.com/article/football//9806491 |
