I have been to the school twice, my sister schools there, come and compare your school with Funaab then you will know what am saying in terms of beauty. In fact, I have two cousins from Oau that have been to my school and they both said Funaab is more beautiful than Oau.

When they mention any first generation school in Nigeria, please never mention second or third generation school like Ilorin, UNAAB or FUNAAB, UNIBEN, etc

The only set of schools that are in the same league and can be compared are- OAU (UNIFE), UI, UNILAG, ABU and UNN. Other that come next are UNIBEN, UNILORIN, etc.

OAU, Ile-Ife (then University of Ife) started in the Nigerian School of Arts and Science, Ibadan, which together with those in Kaduna and Enugu, were wrapped up. The new University of Ife started in the buildings occupied by the school. It was when OAU left Ibadan that The Poly, Ibadan took the structures.

I didnt go to Ife but I think it is a great school, if it were well maintained it would easily be ranked with big universities in SA or Europe. The kind of infrastructure there can NO LONGER BE BUILT BY ANY OTHER SCHOOL INCLUDING THEM AS AT TODAY! And that those things were built in the '70s shows how really great that school was. But as at today the maintenance is horrible. It was in Ife PG hostel toilet that I saw shit piled about 1 meter tall for the first time in my life (that was 1995 anyway, not sure of today), other horrible hostels were Angola (this one is like Somalia), Moremi, etc. But yet, I have never seen infrastructure like that.
