From mando park get a vehicle going to yauri/ kontagora, drop at yauri. From yauri get a vehicle going to koko. After dropping at koko, get a cab to orientation camp at Dakingari.

I arrived at koko junction 12 am and people were busy going about their business as if it was broad daylight. I got cab there without stress and by 1am I arrived at the camp.
Believe me when I tell u kebbi is damn peaceful unlike Lagos where walking around 11pm on the street is a risk sef.

If u plan to get to camp by Tuesday afternoon, then leave Lagos by Monday afternoon. You should go to young shall grow park at iddo book in the morning or afternoon and travel in the evening. By Tuesday evening latest, u will get to camp.

Ilorin to kebbi is like 9 hours depending on How fast ur vehicle is and where Exactly u are going in kebbi. it's better u start ur journey very early in the morning so as to get to camp before night fall

Just like yesterday ( August 2014) I was once in ur shoes, got posted to Kebbi was scampering all over nairaland looking for any information that can aid my successful journey to camp as well as help my entire stay in the land of equity. And here I am today about rounding up my service year in the next two months by the grace of God.
Let me start by allaying your fears by telling u that kebbi state is one of the peaceful states in Nigeria( if not the most peaceful sef),believe me, this is coming from a guy who has spent all his life in Lagos including university years.So do away with the fears which ur friends and relatives might have infected u with by taunting that u are going to a volatile state.Insurgency is nonexistent down here( u don't believe? Google search ' recent bombings in kebbi' and u won't get anything tangible. I did this when I was posted to kebbi last year)
As for the state kebbi, it comprises of people of different tribes including Zuru, kambari, Hausa, Fulani, etc while places like yauri, warrah etc can boast of sizeable number of igbo people and Yoruba people in large population ( If u see the number of yorubas in yauri, u will think u are in ilorin where Yoruba and Hausa live together. )
The state practices the Shari'a system though it's very mild and only binding on Muslims, u are expected to at least be of good behavior as a member of the society. As regards camping, the camp is located at dakingari which is in the outgoing governors hometown. The camp is a new camp that was first used busy our set,thereby making u the 3rd set of corpers to make use of the state of the art facilities. To enjoy camp, I implore u to take as much cash as u can depending on ur pocket and ur tastes. Especially if u are the type that can't eat their poor food they serve in the kitchen.
For those that will be going from Lagos,go to iddo park after oyingbo and take a bus bound for sokoto, drop at koko junction and take a cab to nysc camp from there. I left Lagos around 9 am on Monday and got to camp 1am on Tuesday morning.

Hehehe! I am a Batch 14 'B' serving corper here in Gwandu LGA in Kebbi State and I can imagine how all you otondos are feeling right now. You're most welcome to the Land of Equity where donkeys and camels will remain your companions. If you're down south, take a direct flight to Kebbi via Peace Airways or you can take any other flight to Sokoto and then taxi down to Dakingari. That's how I came when I was posted here. There's so much fun here.
Pls attend NCCF on camp, they'll surely render all the assistance you may need.

Concerning the whether conditions, I tell u bro be prepared for a very hot whether. it's not like anything u've ever seen before. Rain has not fallen since September down here, so the atmosphere is heated up.
I haven't come across any major ailments per se since I got here except for the normal fever I encountered during my first months probably due to change of environment.

For the social life, let me categorically tell u the social life here is practically zero! kebbi is not like Lagos where u carry ur babe to the nearest cool joint or where u buy beer off the streets. ( Though when u get to ur ppa, ur senior corpers will gist u about where and where they get to unwind and get their green bottles, but it's not an open secret every body knows.)
But I think this dearth of social life is compensated for by the general cheap prices of goods in the market.

I think the best option for me is flying to sokoto, then take road to kebbi. Aero is 30k . Please how much is Sokoto to kebbi by road

Lol, kebbi is a cool place. Served there. Note its a sharia state so no alcohol in camp. Though if u know ur way u will get to drink alcohol Try joinin some clubs to favor a good postin. Though I runzed mine to Yauri. By the way, morning bus isnt advisable pls

mobile network is bad in Dakingari camp. Just keep your Etisalat sim at home cos it'll be useless. You'll manage with MTN, AiRTEL and GLO. Pings arrive late..just forget about 3G

pls where is iddo park/oyingbo. and how much is the cost of transportation. I heard cross country from Yaba is 9,500.
