Thanks Efe,Moca, Chili. He has been in so much pains,I'm comforted now that hes in a better place, no pains.

Moca, a ghotarokwam ajuju gi ofuma but I volunteer(my time most especially) for about 3 orphanages. Once in a while, as the spirit leads and when possible,a nam foster some of the kids. Fostering basically makes u the childs parent so you take care of the childs every needs kama the child will not live with you. Ufodu oge, two or more couple come together to foster a child. To foster, you wont need to contact social welfare services ,its between you and the home, not legally binding unlike complete adoption.

Ok thank u Ify for the explanation.
I want to adopt.
I heard the process is very long and tedious.
2 yrs plus.
infact, I won't be able to meet up.
Wish I had started earlier.

It's this hubby of mine. He want me to give birth first.
Meen!

Ify, can I meet up in one yr?
So that I will start d process as soon as I put to bed.

Never knew it was this big. I know something is not right somewhere but never knew it was very deep.
Marriage,na waaaaaaaa o!
And this my hubby just dey cover and patch d thing. Anytime I became curious and tell him, he will dismiss it or give excuse or tell me not to allow such worry me.
Isorait.

He is a great man. He stood by me and even defended me maturely.

I thank God for that man in my life.
He has never taken advantage of me in any way.

Pls,parents, abeg don't be partial in loving ur children. Try and show equal love. It destroys family.
If u don't really love child A as child B,n it will rob off on d spouses.

Why?

What's the rush? You already have a little one and are about to have another. Don't you think adopting right now will be a bit too much for you?

See my sis is worried tongue
Left alone,i would hv adopted b4 popping.
I have a very limited time. If I can't do it now and raise all together, then I won't be able to do it again.

I just don't know,d urge to adopt is more than d urge to make money.
Weird isn't it?

Good idea. You wey dey send 500 taasan naira every month. I go enjoy tire unto per second billing things. I am ready whenever u are, my big-madam,container loading, rich pikin. tongue

@Moca, I kinda agree with Efe. With young kids, I only adopted grown up kids and that was also because i have been fostering them for years ,there was a need to bring them home finally. It's not easy really on everyone (my own bio kids, hubby, relatives, myself and even themselves) but being that they were all grown, leaving for uni made it an easy process for us all. You might need to pause, think hard and well. I suggest you start with fostering first.

There is nothing wrong with adoption.

However, in your case, I think you're planning on taking too much too soon, not to mention the raft of other "issues" you haven't even contended with yet - as per briefly covered in Ify's post. That aside, I think you're struggling (or are on the verge of) with what you've got on your plate now, and you haven't got that much supporting network present. How would you cope emotionally?

If you don't mind my asking, what is the intended age of the child you're looking to adopt?

U guys have demoralized me I swear.
This is something I hv planned since eons.
Not an adult. Less than 5 yrs so the person can grow with my kids.

Hubby agreed provided we have our own biological kids.

I want a big family and with d way I'm going, I don't thing I can go more than 3 times.
Hubby too want a big family.
D only way I can make up is by adoption.

Had my system been favorable to carrying preggie, I go dey carry or do ivf intentionally to get twins or multiple but only one dey show me pepper.
Anyway, I will see how far.

If it's possible to do in a year and half time,i will do but if not, I will forget it.

Believe me, if being forced to think long and hard about what you're intending to embark on makes you feel demoralized at the start, it's way better to feel that way now, then later when it might be too late to reverse your decision. Or do the Nigerian adoption laws make provision for you to "return" a child if you feel you can't cope?

You're very close to giving birth. Looking after a newborn is no joke. You've already got an active toddler on your hands. Hubby is hardly ever around (through no fault if his) and you haven't got that extended family network (i.e: female relatives / family members) to help you out. And yet you want to embark on adopting a very young child with all you already have on your plate? That's 3 kids under the age of five? How would you cope Moca when the going gets tough, because it will?

Then you've got your own ambitions, personal goals, and aspirations i.e: running your own business and schooling?

Look, I'm not saying it's impossible, but you really do need to think long and hard about this. Not just from your angle but from every other perspective, including the kids'.

Lol. I have been indoors since yesterday but I understand where u are coming from. I don't understand what's " special" with that very Oando : furl scarcity or not, people prefer to get fuel from there. The last fuel I personally bought was early this week at Oando Eleganza/Ikota bridge. The queue wasn't much.

It is well.
