Professor Emmanuel C. Ifeachor

Biography

Professor Ifeachor received the B.Sc. (Hons) degree in communication engineering from University of Plymouth in 1980, the M.Sc. degree and DIC in communication engineering from Imperial College, London in 1981, and a PhD degree in medical electronics from the University of Plymouth in 1985. He has published extensively in the areas signal processing and computational intelligence, including co-authoring Digital Signal Processing – A Practical Approach (Addison Wesley, 1993; Prentice Hall, 2002), and edited/co-edited five books including Artificial Neural Networks for Biomedicine (Springer, 2000). He was Guest Editor for the Special Issue of the IEE Proceedings (SMT) on Medical Signal Processing in November 2000. He has received several external awards for his work, including two awards from the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) – Dr V.K. Zworykin Premium for papers on fetal ECG analysis and EEG artetacfs processing.

Professor Ifeachor has organised and chaired a number of major international conferences in signal processing and computational intelligence, including the first IEE International Conference on Advances in Medical Signal & Information Processing (Bristol, 4-6 September, 2000). He has served on numerous international technical committees for major events, including those organised by the IEE and IEEE. Professor Ifeachor has successfully led many industry and government funded projects a number of which have been commercially exploited. His Chair was sponsored by the communications company, WWG/Acterna, for four years (1996-2000).

Professor Ifeachor was Head of School of Electronic, Communication and Electrical engineering from 1995 to 1999. He currently serves on the UK Committee for Professors and Heads of Electrical Engineering (PHEE) and on the Executive Team of the IEE Professional Networks on Healthcare Technologies.

of the country esp the ones from the SE. If anyplace even d pit of hell looks more comfortable to you than
ur country of origin, then u have no option other than to survive by developing your adopted country. In an attempt to develop and survive, hardened members of the lot are left to do it either for good or bad- in most cases my brethren resort to doing it d hard way, earning d country a bad image in d eyes of d world. Nigerians are d most hated and scorned in d world because of d activities of these limited few who are predominantly from that extraction. The few that are celebrated tday that are making waves abroad have equal match in brilliant Nigerians that chose to stay here and could be plucked from across d breadth and width of the country in all the nooks and cranies of this great country (hausas, Yorubas and igbos) plus including other tribes as well.

I just posted based on the CVs I saw there, and these mofos started catching feelings, like WTF? A nyggah can't even say something without them crying.

That was the same way another one who happens to be a mod was trying to re-write the history of Haitian revolution today, till I had to put him in check and corrected the nonsense. Do whatever you do, but stop messing up history and other things, to suit ya fantasies. Some things are bigger than you and ya delusions - don't touch them.

Professor Saheed Aderinto is an Assistant Professor of history at North Carolina University Callowee. He received his B.A. from University of Ibadan, Nigeria (2004) and Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin (2010). He is the author of When Sex Threatened the State: Illicit Sexuality, Nationalism, and Politics in Colonial Nigeria, 1900-1958 (University of Illinois Press, 2015). His other books include Children and Childhood in Colonial Nigerian Histories (Palgrave Macmillan, 2015 edited); African Kingdoms: An Encyclopedia of Empires and Civilizations (ABC-CLIO, 2015 edited); Nigeria, Nationalism, and Writing History (University of Rochester Press, 2010, co-authored), and The Third Wave of Historical Scholarship on Nigeria: Essays in Honor of Ayodeji Olukoju (Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2012, co-edited). In addition, his works have appeared in leading Africanist and specialist journals including, the Canadian Journal of African Studies; Journal of the History of Sexuality; Journal of Colonialism and Colonial History; History in Africa: A Journal of Method; Frontiers: A Journal of Women's Studies; and the Journal of Social History, among others. I just speak based on reality, and if it's about listing just anyone in a backwater University, then you should be able to list at least a thousand of them with ease.

I was expecting distinguished academics, top of the pops, not just anyone.

Based on this list - even Sierra Leone should be able to produce a far better list than this one.

Like I said earlier: only two (or maybe three) of them are distinguished academics. Thank me, later.

In as much as it pains me, this is the truth.
