opribo:THE LIST? WHICH LIST EXACTLY. Who compiled the list and what are the inclusion criteria? This list is worse than useless What are the exclusion criteria? Those are the questions that people who REALLY went to universities would ask. At any rate there is an implicit declaration that somehow being in a US university is better than being in a Nigerian university maybe but not necessarily. What does "professor" mean? In the US generally it means the same as Lecturer in Nigeria and the UK. and so associate professor is assistant Lecturer. I know of at least ONE Nigerian doctor who was a "professor" at a University because he could not pass USMLE and so was teaching Basic Medical sciences. A list of those "present" is not quite the same as of those "excelling" 1 Like |

tonychristopher: I'm sorry, Mr. Dunderhead, I don't do illiterate-speak. I just speak based on reality, and if it's about listing just anyone in a backwater University, then you should be able to list at least a thousand of them with ease. I was expecting distinguished academics, top of the pops, not just anyone. Based on this list - even Sierra Leone should be able to produce a far better list than this one. Like I said earlier: only two (or maybe three) of them are distinguished academics. Thank me, later. 6 Likes 1 Share |

ziqqz: Just because majority of them are Igbos doesn't make them smarter than other tribes! The research looks biased and one sided to me; if you notice, 95% of the Profs either studied or are teaching in the US...What about other academicians of Nigerian descent in the UK and other advanced Countries/top Universities around the globe? And for the fact that it's only one Prof from the whole of Northern Nigeria shows how biased and shallow the OP's research was! Mtchew! 1 Like 1 Share |

tonychristopher: Resident stark illiterate, at this stage of my life, based on what I saw on that list - I'm far ahead of most of the ones on that list, while they were at my age. I also attended a far better Uni. And I'm not even an academic -just some any guy. Can you see why I don't rate mediocrity now, Mr. despicable obnoxious yokel? I expected something better - so stop crying. 3 Likes |

See men.....okonjo them no see all this one oh, dey adapted...collected knowledge and now dey are sharing it back to the needy....instead of fighting for national cake at the Rocks and continental offices...,she would have probably done well as a Dean of economics in Unilag afterall na Havard graduate she be....I think I noticed the northern schools and UNN and ife and Ibadan producing great men up there....our education standard sha!!! still have a long way to go....Allison should probably be an Hod impacting knowledge to petrolchemical students somewhere in UNN than fight for first class cake uptown.....anyway just my opinion. No skin pain, it's good we have reps out there wen get mouth for foreign school and OP I think they are many more out there not on this list with mouth watery degrees up their shoulders and good positions out there..... 1 Like |
