Will we experience time in heaven? Is there such a thing as time in eternity? Will we be timeless in heaven? What do you think?

No, there won't be time in heaven. Time is a feature of this dimension made possible by the presence of the sun here on earth and I know there is no sun in heaven for God is the light there.

It's immeasurable. To the end of time is ever, which you know doesn't exist. #mythoughts

1) try using a circle
2) Count to the last number start from 0 backwards or forward -its infinite, none existent
3) Ever heard of unending loops in computer programing -it will crash your system except you get out of it

please refer to me as giving you these ideas when you use it in preaching a sermon smiley

It's like a sphere with no beginning and end( if we're talking about infinity ) but in Christianity there's a supposed beginning for heaven but no end..so it has nothing to compare it to. ..just blind faith as usual smiley

There's an English Word that we can use in describing the life time of the never dying God, what is it?

Time is a perceptual phenomenon. We perceive time when we are not in optimal conditions of happiness. Time goes slowly when you're sitting on a dentist's chair, or working at a boring job. But it 'flies' when you're at a lively party. Heaven is a place of bliss. In conditions of absolute bliss, there will be no perception of time. And where there is no perception of time, there is no time.

I'll probably do a lot of touring of the various inhabited planets as a travelling soul...to see how they live. I probably won't decide to be born in any of them as happened in this earth life. I think I now prefer 'observer status' as opposed to 'participant'.

I hardly see a distinction that makes evolution a myth seeing it's a scientific study whereas creationism is a perversion of biblical mythology...

Time is an illusion. A conscious mind who has learned to control time is in heaven. Heaven is not up there, it is within us. OP needs to learn more.

When one is blowing one's trumpet, will one be blowing a melody? In this melody will one note precede another.

How can anything happen without time? I presume that in heaven there will be various events. How will they happen?

Then what about our actions? Will we be active, running around, doing things? What impulses will prompt our actions? For instance, I go in the kitchen to prepare dinner because I'm hungry. There is always an urge, a dissatisfaction with the present state of affairs that makes us get up to do anything. Even just going for a walk can be prompted by being bored at home.
Therefore I wonder, will there be hunger, boredom, angst, desire, discomfort etc when we get to heaven? Or will we just be feasting though we are not hungry?

To bring the argument from a different angle.... It seems impossible to separate the joys and gratification of fulfilment from the pangs and desires that need to be gratified. In other words there is no satiation without hunger. There can be no happiness without a lack of something, and happiness comes after that lack has been gratified.

This is all basic human psychology. It follows then that for heaven to make sense then we must be quite different creatures with totally different psychology and behavioural systems when we get to heaven.
Re: Will We Experience Time In Heaven? by InesQor(m): 10:01am On May 12, 2015
Time is a type of relative measure, just like distance. That's assuming the nature of heaven is akin to a physical one. It probably isn't.

If you think you'll experience distance in heaven, then you'll probably experience time in heaven. Being relative though, your perception of quantities like time, weight, distance, etc will be different from what you have here.

The way I understand it is like when a ball in motion finally comes to rest. That point of rest is like heaven: no energy dissipation, no intrinsic quantitative increases. All the "activities" in heaven will also be from a point of rest. Relative to how we currently understand life (the busy rolling ad bouncing ball), life in heaven will be like a stand-still. The only forces that will be exerted on such a body at rest, are external forces, all counterbalanced with one another.

Time is just like such an external force so I feel there will be time in heaven - but on a different scale from what we're used to.

I'm sure science doesn't confirm sticks turning to snakes, lakes turning to blood and immaculate conceptions unless you mean pseudoscience...... grin
And it's funny how you say something is a fairy tale when the definition of fairy tales involves magic, giants, witches, wizards, incantation spells, beings of extraordinary power and speaking things into being from thin air....
Sorry but it's time someone told you to get your head out of your a.$$ grin

You are correct. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. Can you improve on that and give us one English word for that?
