This woman is truly a role model to follow. I don't know why Nigerians admire miracle workers, she came on board in 2011, 4 years approximately and she's been managing the affairs of this great nation which we all know is a challenging period of huge political, economic and security challenges; a period during which citizens look on to their governments in exasperation and disappointment. In the midst of all these, Ngozi has remained calm, focused and even more determined to help fix her fatherland.. So if she's a recipient of an international award of which she didn't give herself, you should know she deserved it. Stop the hate, rather celebrate her.

- She did continue in the role of Finance minister and managed the enviable feat of negotiating Nigeria's exit from the Paris Club, the first African country ever to achieve this

- first female federal finance minister of Nigeria

- Her financial and economic achievements have been widely acknowledged but I would like to celebrate a part of her that did not often get acknowledged- her simplicity. In Nigeria where flamboyance is the order of the day, Ngozi's consistent dressing in simple ankara cloth often accessorized with simple beads or coconut shell jewellery sent a powerful message to the Nigerian public. She showed that you did not have to be swathed in yards of lace, silk or satin and draped in tonnes of gold to be an effective or powerful woman. Her blunt speaking and sharp mind made her an alternative role model for young Nigerian women everywhere and earned her the respect of the international community

- Her exceptional achievements have received global recognition, some of which include

Good, but that makes her a certificated academician not an EXPERTS,as initially purported. We need and EXPERT with Wisdom, that's she lacks so miserablely, very unfortunately, we only value certificate, more than ability, efficiency and capabilities.

Let Buhari appoint any Alhaji or Alhaja who barely read economics to manage Nigeria's finances including oil revenues , let Yorrober media rest.

Sanusi Lamido whose only post graduate qualification is Quaran studies remains heroic CBN governor for Yorrober journalists, notwithstanding that Sanusi planned to wreck Nigeria's economy given the way and manner he came to the open market to announce that $50 billion Dollars, later $40 billion Dollars, and later $20 billion Dollars missing. An economy managed by unqualified people would crash immediately after Sanusi made his allegations.

Under Iwealla, Nigeria's economy surpassed South Africa's for the first time. But part of Yoruba and media it controlls says it's a lie told by Western Financial institutions to promote Iwealla.
Those Yoruba and their media promoted Buhari (Lol) candidacy to sack Iwealla. Iwealla is going but some Yoruba would not let up.

But lots of Igbo professionals disagree with how Okonjo Iweala managed the Nigerian economy, so why are you always bringing in tribal attacks when anyone find any Igbo wanting? Okonjo Iweala has yoruba supporters while prominent Igbos like Professor Charles Soludo and Dr. Oby Ezekwelisi (who happens to have worked for the world bank also) are antagonists of Okonjo Iweala so called economic brillaince.

All these grammar na hogwash, yes most of us are illiterates, in fact we don't even know how to spell 'economy' but we know the basics, the basics are that food is on the table of the common man, that things are better than they used to be, not paper economy, not our lives getting better on charts and statistics, not nonsense awards to people whose impact cannot be felt by the common man, not rise in the nation's dept, not borrowing to pay workers salaries. And in the midst of all these there are numerous presidential jets, some militants are feeding fat, there's leakages everywhere in the economy.

With all these what people like you want is for the people who are suffering to be smiling and keep singing the praise of our corrupt leader for either your myopic or whatever reason, tell Yale university to bring their school here for 1yr under NOI's watch, we'll see if they'll still give the nonsense award afterwards.

america owns one of the largest economy in the world, it was d largest few yrs ago not untill china overtook it. the question is, arre they poor people in america? yes!
n d funny thng to add is american govt still run social welfare programmes whr hundreds of thousands of her citizens are being fed n paid since they aint capable of doing it themselves.
u ask urself but america economy is robust n d largest yet still people depend on govt for stipends just to feed themselves, is it that the economy isnt puttin food on their desks as nigerians think it shud be since it is robust?
answer....... economy wont put food on the table of a lazy man.
our economy is large cos we r 170+ million people. what really contributed to d hardship faced now is because one factor contributes the bulk of our economy which s OIL.
THough there s crash in price of oil but ours isnt just the crash price bt crash in CUSTOMERS!
US was our bulk exporter of our oil but since last yr they stopped buying from us n we r looking for buyers for our crude. this is the problem n unless we deviate from this oil stuff we go hear nwee in coming yrs.

Billions of dollars still unaccounted under her watch.

The Nigerian economy is in shambles under her watch.

The Naira jumped over N200 under her watch

She is now borrowing billions of dollars to pay salaries because she spent Nigeria broke

Nigeria is $60 billion in debt under her watch

So, exactly what did Nigerians gained based on the silly and irrelevant CV you are peddling all over the place?

Whatever degree she was given and the reasons sited for the award has nothing to do with the realities on the ground and the sorry and pathetic state of the Nigerian economy that she rendered comatose.

In America where she was given the award, they force people like her to resigned and she should have resigned years ago.

Woman will you shut up!
If at all you read the post do you have comprehension skill at all?
The summary is that she has done (well listed out) things for this country which makes her deserve the honours and that the first petitioner was being unethically and unprofessionally malicious against the person of NOI. Now is that a lie? What do you mean by failed to prove bla bla bla. Question is did she do for Nigeria the the things listed in the post or not.
Blinded by your maliciousness you failed to see that building a great economy requires synergy which the average Nigerian who wants his share of the cake is not ready to be a part of. And then you blame a singular person who is doing the best she can.

When Soludo took on Iwealla, it was obvious that Buhari must defeat Jonathan. BH had wrecked Jonathan popularity then.
Ezekwesili with her #BringBackOurGirls have been looking for attention.

But if not for attention seeking, why would an outsider challenge an insider for economic debates on the country's economy? With what statistics will the outsider debater?

Sections of Yorrober and their media have fought bitterly every Igbo that served Jonathan government.

Few persons would understand that there are other non-Igbos that served Jonathan government in juicer positions than Igbo ministers.

Only in Nigeria do you see impoverished fools bowing before a fat faced world bank lackey who has done nothing for them except make their lives a living hell. I just had to laugh at the so called "acheivements" of this world bank puppet, what has she ever done for any of you in Nigeria?

This is why I love people in the west, nobody looks at how many certificates you have, or how many letters you have after your name, they look at PRACTICAL ACHEIVEMENTS ON THE GROUND. What has this fat b.tich ever done for any of you?

She is being honoured by her paymasters who placed her in Nigeria to help transfer YOUR wealth into THEIR HANDS, that's why they confer doctorates degrees on her. Has she solved any of your immediate problems ie alleviation of poverty and job creation for the masses? CAPITAL NO!

You people really deserve the scum who rule over you, anyway part 2 is on the way courtesy of sell out Buhari.

Sadly, their replacements are no better. I used to have a lot of respect for Buhari but he has already been bought and paid for by the people who control Nigeria from outside. That's why he was allowed to defeat Dumbo

There is no hope for Nigeria unless the people revolt, anything short of that will only result in a continuation of what has been going on for the past 55 years.

How painful - ethnic positions and statements even in the face of the obvious- prior to the yar adua administration OBJ and her claimed nigeria's debt had been cleared - true! Or false! And the world was a witness to it- development funds for 40years at zero interest amount to what exactly? Grants For which services exactly? Schools industries or looting? Can you show me the direct relation between putting figures that were already in existence, prior to this administration and the economy of this country as of today- fuel subsidies OBJ bought in mobile gsm services, which created thousands of direct and indirect jobs and till today it is still creating jobs, mobile money, data companies- the development of blog sites like nairaland the capital market under soludo became stronger, "thou universal banking made a few billionaires" -downside- infra structural development and FDI came in during the OBJ era, immediately after the debt was cancelled, before the initial crash of the capital market* - YAR Adua regime "as a result of the reversal of some of OBJ's policy, fuel etc" what exactly did the GEJ administration under the able watch of NOI do? Sure-p (temperary jobs- not pensionable) youwin (did you get it?) g-win without attaching means of helping the entrepreneurs pay back loans in such a difficult economy- they buy stoves we can manufacture in nigeri her from south Africa at $9.2b under her watch- realise $15m dollars for cover operations to buy arms from south Africa! Can not explain why $20b is still missing- while GEJ tells us America would know if it is missing angry sad and you play the ethnic card Kai

Okay here are a few of her "acheivements" :

she handed over $12billion of Nigeria's foreign reserves to the Paris club whilst Nigerian Finance Minister in 2005 rather than spend it on infrastructure development, healthcare and education which would benefit the masses of Nigerians who live in abject poverty

As at 2015 she left the Nigerian economy in a worse state than it was when she met it.

IN the west people get sacked for doing things like this, but in Nigeria they are praised, its either you are extremely s.tupid or extremely corrupt and on her pay roll or both.

By the way Yale reward African lackeys and puppets who implement policies which benefit the US , so as far as Yale is concerned she is someone to be honoured for putting the economic interests of the US before and above the interests of Nigeria. So Nigerians need to understand that they are barking up the wrong tree when they ask Yale to withdraw the doctorate as they are giving it to her for a job well done. She has destroyed the living standards of millions of Nigerians, helped in the devaluation of the naira, and ensured that all World bank economic policies have been implemented, for that they have decided to honour her with a doctorate.
