The duo of Gent’s Moses Simon and Granada's Isaac Success are in danger of missing Nigeria's opening game of the World Youth Championship owing to visa issues.

Both players sent their passport to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for a New Zealand visa to be issued to them in Abuja but they received their passport yesterday without the visa in them.

Kelechi Iheanacho of Manchester City is already in the team hotel in New Plymouth as he came in ahead of the travelling contingent from Germany.

On Success and Simon the NFF have expedited action on their case and the duo are set to be offered visas which will only be ready on Thursday at the earliest. With Nigeria scheduled to play her first game of the tournament on the 1st of June (next Monday) the duo are in a race to be available for the Brazil game.

A top source in the team made this known to SL10.ng and even though, according to him, Success and Moses are pivotal to the team they are confident of getting a result against Brazil in their opening game as the players on ground are good enough to execute the game.

Nigeria is still looking for its first win over Brazil at the U20 level and they are hopes that the Manu Garba lead team will break the jinx.

I pray they don't miss this game

Just kidding.

Ezeh, Taiwo, Success, Ndidi these are arguably the most handsome members of the U20 nigerian team. Various attributes such as physique, facial symmetry, dress stlye and skin clarity as well as other physiological factors were analyzed. It should suffice to say that the preliminary results as accrued from opinion poll of targeted flying eagles enthusiasts revealed the following.
IN DECENDING OTHER FROM MOST HANSOME

1. CHIDERA EZEH
2. WILFRED NDIDI
3. TAIWO AWONIYI
4. SUCESS ISAAC.

The lapses from the NFF is too much. I hope Coach Garba is lenient with them and keep Moses and Success on the squad list, If they can make it in time for the second game.

Manu: Iheanacho, Success And Simon Are Too Important To Be Dropped

Flying Eagles coach Manu Garba has allayed fears that Kelechi Iheanacho, Isaac Success and Moses Simon would be found wanting at the FIFA U20 World Cup after they all failed to make the team’s training camp in Germany.

All three players were busy with their respective clubs, hence their failure to make the Germany training camp, but made the final list of 21 and Manu has explained why he included all three players in his team despite his earlier stance that he won’t include players that didn’t make the Germany training camp.

“I said that because the players who have been training with us understand our philosophy and have undergone all the trainings, but you can’t take away anything from Success, who is playing for a club like Granada and he is injury free and doing well.

“Moses is the most important player at Belgian club Gent. Kelechi has been on superb form. He is one player who can be relied upon if he is free of injury and I believe he has recovered from that injury.

“I believe their inclusion in the team will go a long way in adding more strength to the team,” he said.

Manu went on to state that he has no fears whatsoever, explaining that they already understand the team’s philosophy, but adds that none of them have an automatic starting berth.

“I don’t have any fear because these players have been with us. Even Moses Simon was with us in the early part of the U17 team before he went on to play for the U20 team. He may not know our philosophy, but for Kelechi and Success, they know how we play right from the U17s. Kelechi even played the qualifiers.

“But we are also not saying these players will come in automatically to the first team, they will be coming in gradually for them to find a synergy with the other players.

At this level on these young footballers' careers,it is imperative they remain humble, disciplined, united, dedicated and love of one another if they truly want to rule the world, these r off the field traits that could possibly derail a super talented team irrespective of how good they r,talent alone seldom win tournaments. So discipline on and off the field is paramount to the success of this team, even the way the goals should be celebrated

Flying Eagles Foes Hungary beat Fiji 7-0
26 May 2015News Update

Nigeria's FIFA U-20 World Cup first round opponents Hungary defeated Fiji 7-0 in a warm-up match in Cambridge, New Zealand on Tuesday.A strike from Zsolt Kalmár and a brace each from Márió Németh and Donát Zsótérgave Bernd Storck's side a five-goal advantage at half time. The Europeans completed the rout with strikes from László Oláh and Roland Sallai in the second half.It was Hungary's third warm-up game after they had earlier beaten Myanmar 3-0 and drawn 1-1 with Mexico. They face Korea DPR in their opening fixture on June 1 at the Taranaki stadium in New Plymouth, before clashing with the Flying Eagles days later.

They are playing weak sides Fiji and Myanmar... The best friendly there is against mexico. That shows their strength.

[b]Isaac Success Misses Flight To New Zealand, As NFF Expert Travels To Belgium To Hand Over Moses Simon Passport

Due to an administrative bureaucracy, allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Granada striker Isaac Success has missed his scheduled flight to link up with the Nigeria U20s for the Fifa World Cup.

The 19 - year - old was supposed to depart Malaga on Monday morning for New Zealand but is presently holed up in Andalusia awaiting the personal assistant to the NFF President, Nasiru Jibril, to deliver his international passport.

The document had been sent by Isaac Success to Nigeria, as requested by the Federation, to process his visa to New Zealand.

But he is not the only Flying Eagles player facing travel difficulties as Gent striker Moses Simon was yet to be given his international passport as at Sunday.

Nasiru Jibril, regarded as one of the international experts at the NFF, jetted off to Europe last weekend and it is believed that he is now in Belgium to hand Simon his international passport. The NFF official is expected to arrive in Spain this evening to meet up with Isaac Success.

With the clock ticking before the Flying Eagles opener against Brazil, Success has decided not to wait for Fifa to send him a fresh ticket to travel to New Zealand.

This website understands that he will book and pay for his flight ticket today before flying to New Zealand on Tuesday.

With the FIFA U20 World Cup, New Zealand 2015 and the FIFA Women’s World Cup, Canada 2015 just around the corner, General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation, Dr Mohammed Sanusi has noted that no special targets were given to the teams.

In a chat with the www.footballlive.ng although the expectation is that both teams excel in their respective tournaments

” Its not good to say we’re setting targets for the teams. I think its just better to let the players know that the entire Country is behind them and expects the teams to leave up to their billing.

” During our little tête-à-tête especially with the Flying Eagles Taiwo Awoniyi; who spoke for the team; said that they are aware Nigerians are confident in their abilities and rather than feel pressured, they are buoyed to remain focus.”

I think we should be careful how we expect so much from this team lest we have unexpected hbp should they falter. Brazil might have come fourth in the South American qualifiers but they still pose lots of threat.

I like many others wrote them off not just because of their qualifying position but mainly cos of Flying Eagles talents, preparations and results but after watching the Brazilians, I had a change of mind about them. They have tall players like the Germans and could pose threats aerially and physically. They can shoot and score goals from long distances. I think we should be wary of that.

The flying Eagles might have lots of talents but they haven't kicked a ball yet in New Zealand. I still think that under17 is different from under20. It might not be so easy walking in there and coming out with results just like that. While we focus on Brazil, little is known about Hungary or North Korea whom I believe might parade over aged players.

Let's continue to pray and hope that everything works well for these boys. I don't know how much the impact of visa hitches and blending of the duo of Simon and isaac might have on the team. I would have dropped the two if I was Manu and concentrate on the boys who won super6 and AYC. Simon might be a huge talent and experienced but I believe that he could easily be replaced. Same as success.
