[b]Chile U-17 World Cup ends tomorrow with The Golden Eaglets facing Mali in the Finals. We expect this set of players to form part of the next U-20 World Cup. Therefore, the journey starts now whether they win in a few hours' time or not.

The 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup will be the 21st edition of the FIFA U-20 World Cup, the biennial international men's youth football championship contested by the under-20 national teams of the member associations of FIFA, since its inception in 1977 as the FIFA World Youth Championship. The tournament will be hosted by South Korea between 20 May and 11 June 2017.

Along with Japan and Mexico, South Korea becomes the third nation to have hosted all of FIFA Men's international competitions, namely the 2002 FIFA World Cup, the 2001 Confederations Cup and the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup.

The Korean FA originally place a request of hosting the tournament away from the traditional June/July period, as it would clash with Korea's rainy season, as well as any possible national team selection were they to qualify for the Confederations Cup.

Welcome!

Glad to arrive here and I wish our Golden Eaglets success in tomorrow's final. It has been an interesting and long road. It comes to an end later tomorrow and I pray we are on the celebrating side.

A special congratulations to Coach Emmanuel Amunike, His technical crew and his Golden Boys. It is not a coincidence. This is a historical moment of the team.

As for the NFF, I hope we root out all the negative vices there. Imagine Amaju Pinnick under pressure to sack a coach who qualified for the tournament.

Coach Amunike and his crew have not been paid as they went to the tournament. Is that not a way to sabotage their great effort.

As for Kelechi Nwakali and Victor Osimhen, I have two words for you. MANCHESTER CITY.

Opportunities should be given to all Nigerians wherever they might be... We should select the very best... We should not just rely on the 2015 winners because they will be playing with guys that are older than them by more than 1 year... A strong team can be built by introducing Yahaya, Ezeh, Awoniyi , and all those in the last set that are still of age plus good players from europe and the local league.

I agree with you but I believe the Coaching Crew should get the promotion and they will make the choices of players that suit them. I think the likes of Awoniyi and Ezeh will make the team because Coach Amunike worked with them as the Assistant of Coach Manu Garba.

Congratulations to our boys for making us proud. Now is the time to win the elusive U-20 championship. Amunike and his coaching crew must have learnt a lot from what happened to manu and his boys at the last U-20 tournament.

We must add the likes of Ezeh, yahaya, awoniyi and others in the age bracket to our team. If and only if they are good enough and performing excellently well in the clubs. We need experience in our team, we should not just going in with 18 year olds like we did with Manu's boys. Some good 19-20 year olds should join the boys and we could easily get them from the 2015 set.

You are absolutely on point! The Team needs to be refreshed and rebuilt! It lacks attacking Midfielders who can orchestrate the game like Iheanacho and Yahaya! Also the Team needs a solid, very strong DM who can cover up the defense line efficiently and effectively like Idowu!
We have to prepare fully for the U20 Tourney in 2017 and it has to start now!

D Team For This Tournament Should Be A Mixture Of LeftOverS(those who are still eligible) From The 2015 U20 WC, the stand out performers of the 2015 U17 WC and newly discovered talents from open camps and the local league.
NB: players frm foreign countries bt wit nigerian originshould be considered.

Yes We have learnt. Knowledge comes with experience. This ur line of reasoning was what I tried to pass down at 2015 U20. Major reason for our failure. Same with Chile 87 bt we corrected it at Saudi 89.

I believe our 2017 U20 team will b too hot for d rest of d world: Combining 2013 U17 with d best of 2015 U17 plus some other players doing well elsewhere.

The Saudi 89 team was a blend of 1985 & 87 Eaglets team with a blend of local league players. We can do it again.

As MRI no dey this one, let us do as previous winners have and mix the team a little....30% between the ages of 18-20 and 70% players between the ages of 21-23.

There's a reason players like Boschilla and Mosquito didn't make the Brazilian U20 team, rather a Pereira that wasn't in the U17. We shall not be twice magad consecutively

Thanks ever proactive joseph1013 for this thread .

God sparing our lives, 2017 is not far away .

My major concern is that most of our shinning stars at some of these age-grade competition don't really build on their success thus few of them metamorphosis to greater footballer later in life.
