Ogbeni how far, you done finish?

I did a trial payment of 1000 CAD on my student portal with my gtbank mastercard, surprisingly it went through but the conversation rate was 174 Naira.

I called diamond bank they gave me 164.2 with other charges like 1% commission, 2500 naira telex copy and 5% VAT.
It would probably sum up to the same thing with gtbank.

ok so they finally made the transfer. And here's what happened.

I walked into diamond bank for the Form A on friday. They asked me to open an account. I did that and deposited 300k into the account because I just wanna pay the acceptance fee for now 1500 CAD. So because of diesel and all that I was asked to come on monday.

on monday, I got to the bank at 7mins past 1pm and the bank had closed. I went back home.

On tuesday morning, the bank guy assigned to my case called me to come over. And when I got there they asked me to get my BVN number. I had to go back to GT for that.
I had already filled the form A on friday and submitted along a copy of my acceptance, passport data page, degree Certificate and a formal letter requesting for the transfer to canada.

Today, I received an alert of my account debited NGN243,000 for the CAD1,500
change rate @162 no other charges YET! I hope they don't charge anything more sha.

I hope that helps you and any other person seeking to pay their fees.

To the gurus inhouse. I've a salary acct which is not funded at all as I often withdaw all my salary and deposit it in my other acct. My question now is, which acct is best to use for my application? Or can I use both? Hw much is best to have for a self sponsor? And I also have another joint acct with some friends for biz purpose though we are still trying to build it. Can I use all 3 acct?

Gtbank done chop me be that and this would probably end any serious transaction I will do with them.
my transaction was charged at 171 CAD, I wonder what was the need for CBN FORM A. imagine 11 Naira difference and I transferred 13,000 already.

I think Gtbank just sold money to me at there own rate, and throw away the form A.

Hello house. Pls i need help in the following:
- is it advisable to do medicals just before submitting an application, or just after?
- any disadvantage if medical is done before its requested for?
- is a copy of the visa page required for online application?
- i have one of my 3 bros as my sponsor(works in a major oil producing in Naija), but i intend to include the payslips n letters of co-sponsorship of the other two(one works in a machine manufacturing co and the other, a major oil servicing firm, both of them in the U.S.). Is this ok?
Pls, don't mind me, I like stating it as it is so i get the right answer(s).
Thanks

If you have enough time for ur application(I mean 3months to ur resumption) and you will be available for medicals within this period then follow due process and wait until u are asked to go for it. If not then go for upfront medicals, that was why it was created in the first place. And it doesn't guarantee ur TRV, cos the VOs will treat ur file just before they proceed to see if u av or av not done medicals..When u go online to apply, you need to go do ur biometrics after with ur original intl passport and 2 photocopies,bt u will have ur passport back to go home with. Asper ur sponsors, anyone anywhere can be ur sponsor as long as he presents genuine docs and SOA to back up the claims..

Cheers!

I am so pained beyond ur imagination, I really thought I was getting Good deal because the transaction was initiated by a staff on my behalf,we have done this before and the correct rate was charge with no kobo put on top.
I told her this but we argued and she didn't see reasons with me. This is just so annoying.

Just want to pen down some words to those out there who have been delayed due to one reason or the other.

1. Don't be so much in a hurry to re-apply
The reason is that it still takes some considerable time to get your files back and also to know the full reasons for denial. For those that call for their gcms files, its like 6 weeks or so. If not for anything, give the VOs the impression that you took your time to sort out what went wrong.

2. Give yourself time to heal..Yea I know how it can feel. Believe me, it feels like uv just lost a job or denied promotion. It could even set some peeps into depression. So when you hurriedly refire, sometimes ur emotions are at work and could tamper with ur sense of judgement or decision making process.

3. Take your time to effect the change you desire gradually. It can take some few months to build an account to over a million naira, work some more for some cash for those on the financial reasons. This will present ur case firmly when you do re-apply.

4. Lastly, your destiny is not tied to any country..Brace up, accept your position and move on..You can still make it wherever you are.

Cheers!

You your package is being sent back when you track it. My friend that is in Canada already experienced that. He only found out when he opened his passport.

School start date is Sept 1 n i intend applying June 1. So i'm just thinking d upfront medical might be appropriate. Also, i dont reside in Lag so was thinking of killing 2birds wt a stone. Just not sure.

Also, kindly re-read d sponsor part of my question. I have a main sponsor(sibling) but i intend supporting with two other sponsors(siblings too) who will only present their payslips n letters of co-sponsorship. Is ds ok?

Thanks

The other sponsors should provide their employment letters, payslips, SOA, workID, anything that proves source of funds, availability of funds and ofcourse commitment to sponsor(sponsorship letter).

You can go ahead with the upfront medicals then..God's grace...

cheers!

Please I want to verify something, I have been given admission to a US & Canadian school, I want to enquire if Canadian embassy hold on to passport after an online application when I get to do my biometrics or would I hold on to it till when its been approved for stamping visa?
Also, how long is the online application and do I need to do a medical test first?

no they don't hold onto your passport. They'll request for it if the VO wakes up on the good side if his/her bed and touches your application that day.

Nope, I though I told you they don't. A friend who works with them explained it all.

I wish you the very best luck as you proceed forth.

Present all SOAs and a genuine proof of how you get your money and """maybe""" why you do move them around your accounts.
