Did anyone observe that even with the heavy downpour and flooded streets , they still had power ... Their 'POWER HOLDING COMPANY' refused to hold it...come rain come shine. Unlike Naija

The flood water entered the underground fuel tanks of the filling station the victims went to take shelter. The fuel were displaced from the tank and flowed freely when it ignited after getting in contact with nak3d flame nearby causing an explosion. At the station.

This some f*kd up sh*t man. Even in death, the child clung so tightly to the mother hoping that somehow, the horrow would go away. Alas it never did and now they shall come to part no more.
RIP to the dead and my heart felt condolences to all Ghanians in this grievious moment.

I live there so I think I know what I'm saying. People not well enlightened on the dangers of dumping refuse into drains, building on waterways with impunity, not enforcing sanitary standards in a city such as Accra and blind eyes from government officials on all of these issues are definitely a result of bad governance.

To those of you who feel I'm wrong, yes floods do occur in countries with most as a result of climatic changes and not of the people embracing poor sanitary conditions or government officials allowing poor building standards. All these caused the Floods and not necessarily cause of the torrential rains.

It's been a yearly occurrence dated as far back as the late 90s... we are in 2015 yet same thing same place year in year out.... that's not Natural disaster.

Bros governance is part of it.A government that earmarked funds for major drainage projects that never took place should be held liable. The picture of the mother and child breaks my heart. Most parts of Accra are always flooded even when it rains for 30mins.The nonchalant attitude of the government to flooding in Accra over the years has finally delivered dividends.

Flood is popping up everywhere whenever there is a longer rainfall. Is this the effect of global warming? Many parts of Texas were flooded last week and it is not a matter of planning anymore as it cannot be controlled. This is not a drainage issue.
no ma,! drainage plays an important rile in controlling flood o, bin to some countries n know wot,am talking about, Africa (Nig in particular )gat terrible drainage system, so lil flood makes us sad.hygiene is another problem wt our nation, no clean attitude, throwing rubbish in d public road etc.they all encourage flood. this is a warning sign unto nig

You are so on point on this issue.I worked in Accra for four years and used that route from kaneshie to osu everyday. Whenever it rains for 45mins non stop the effect is better imagined than experienced.

As we can all see, their drainage system is better than ours. Still this happened to them. Warning call to us here in Nigeria especially Lagos.

To all the animals that eats and throw the nylon or packs out through the vehicles window, Big hand for you. For those that dump waste in the small tiny drainage that we are managing..... God will reward you.
