Nairalanders when did it degenerate to this level?

Its unfortunate to see posts and comments made on this forum by youths and 'leaders of tomorrow'. One begins to wonder when has it degenerated to this state when we begin to make derogatory and defamatory posts and comments of our leaders and elders.

Its a pity that we have allowed selfish and self centered politicians to 'pitch' us all along political, ethic and religious divides. Most of all grossly affected our MORALITY, VALUES & RESPECT. You come across posts and comments and begin to wonder are we really preparing ourselves as future leaders with such attitudes.

Fellow Nairalanders its high time we all support our Leaders and desist from such callous posts and comments, irrespective of our ethnicity, beliefs, religion, political inclinations, etc. Our national interest should supersede individual/group interest. Lets focus on constructive debates, informative news and political arguments than peddle insults, defamatory comments, etc.

Isn't there's so much poverty, unemployment, insecurity and uncertainty in our country to stoop so low to insults? Listen, if we all had good jobs, businesses and thriving careers laid down by good governance, who will have time and energy to start calumny and defamatory posts; No one will.

So please lets all join hands to rebuild our great country, as RESPONSIBLE PEOPLE & leaders of tomorrow. A WORD IS ENOUGH FOR THE WISE.

Constructive Comments are welcome.

@Moderator, we'll appreciate this Post be sent to front page pls. Thanks

When they were insulting GEJ and using derogatory and defamatory comments on him, where were you? ...possibly sipping 'kunu' with your 'patriotism' locked in your inner cupboard. But today, your purported gentle president is now on seat you quickly went and unlock and dust your 'patriotism' from the cupboard... Bro! HYPOCRISY is worst!!!

Sometimes I wonder if that word "future leaders" implies to this generation.

Right from my primary school days we were called future leaders with the likes of OBJ,PMB and its ilk in power.

Some of us are already grand parents with the Monarch who has refused to comprehend the fact that "future leaders" exist in the country.

Op, I think abuses and educative insults will either allow them install some senses or give the competent future leaders their ways.

Abi na for grave we go practice the future leaders? Abegi!!

Any politician that don't do things the right way, more u-n-p-r-i-n-t-e-d words might be attach to him/her.

what I mean is that you should hv criticized them then and maybe the scenario would have been nib in the bud then but now I think the situation has escalated like wild inferno! ...maybe the coming presidency in 2019 would douse the dust generated.

I hate hypocrisy.
Where were you when GEJ was called all derogatory names on earth?

Anyone who needed a million likes on social media only had to find a derogatory name for Jonathan.

It was counted as achievements for APC governors who could find a derogatory name for Jonathan.

APC chieftains who insulted Jonathan were said to be vocal and brave.

I don't subscribe to insulting the office of the president or vice president but I hate the hypocrisy I'm reading in your post.

Bro I don't understand the hypocrisy you are talking about. So because someone says or does something wrong gives another the reason to do same? I say No sir.. As I stated earlier I was never in support of insulting the office of our Leaders ok.

Also I've always had in mind to post this as far back as February in the heat of the electioneering campaigns, just never had the opportunity cos of busy schedule. I need to clarify this.

Insults and abuse are not acceptable by any standards. However, the deep sense of mistrust and hatred can mostly be blamed on the politicians. You have to solve the fundamentals issues before telling people to stop the personal insults, otherwise any attempt will be a futile exercise.

Dolly you so on point with the bolded comment.

I believe we all have the power to solve whatever fundamental issues ourselves by sheer determination to act right as responsible people. Its not rocket science dear.

The Op have a point.

I'll consider suspending calling Buhari, a semi-literate cattle herder. I'll stick to calling him the sexier and apt name he's known by - Duara dullard.
Now that's not an insult, it's reality! cheesy tongue

Insulting leaders and fellow nairalanders is the life blood of many here, take that away from them and they just cease to exist.

Now that Buhari has become the president you want to stop insults and abuses on Nairaland?
Re: Nairalanders Please Lets Stop These Incessant Insults & Abusive Posts/comments by zik4ever: 1:22pm On Jun 11, 2015
It is unfortunate the way things are going. Hope we won’t leave hate and mutual suspicion for our children? I've always maintained that insulting Jonathan, Buhari and ourselves doesn’t help us in anyway. Besides, most of our politicians are just different factions of the same ruling class. Some ex-PDP people who could have been lynched recently, have joined APC and are today being celebrated as progressives and champion democrats including people who massively rigged election and probably looted their previous office. Same thing also some PDP people we are hailing are people even in our conscience we know are election riggers and treasury looters. Ask anyone with inside knowledge of the workings of the National Assembly and he will tell you that when it comes to money, there is no APC or PDP, conservative or progressive, Southerner or Northerner. As we speak, some of them have focused their attention on 2019 already.

People like you, should have been shouting this message in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015. There is no progress for Nigeria in the next 4 years, my advise is for people to purse their own personal progress. APC and their pretentious supporters will receive full measure, shaking together and running over, what they gave Nigerians in the name of opposition.
