teesboy:

The Gold standard for having your documents recognised internationally can be a Notary Public or to have the Legalisation Department of the Embassy or High Commission (if it provides legalisation of documents services) of the Country you wish to send those documents to authenticate and attest to its veracity before sending it or in some cases you will be expressly instructed/required to do it at the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja and I reiterate that A sworn Affidavit of Support at a Federal High Court in Nigeria is just as good as one from a Notary Public as you are using it to apply to CIC, Lagos and do not let any one tell you otherwise, I am yet to see anyone refused by CIC for their Affidavit of Support being sworn at a Federal High Court, Heck some peeps like @pchax and a few others got their TRV with just a Declaration of Support with no Sworn affidavit or Notary Public. A VO is more interested in knowing if your study application shows academic progression from one level to another, you have adequate funds to cover your studies and home ties and not where your affidavit was sworn. I do not recall you stating Affidavit sworn in Lagos as one of the reasons for your refusal. Instead of looking for a Notary Public spend that time and more typing, editing, updating, proof reading for errors and finally arriving at an SOP that addresses issues from your prior application but if a Notary Public is your preference then go right ahead to do it.

Oga Teesboy, calm down jare... You got me all wrong. However, I commend you on the nice job you're doing in here.

We all give advice based on personal opinions and individual experiences... I made mention of what worked for me in the past, not that it's the only way out.

We all know the importance of SOP in an application, but some peeps apply without it and get their TRV. The same goes for landed documents, employment documents and other necessary(but not mandatory) documents that aid visa applications.

My heart felt congratulations to the medical applicants, it's indeed a good news, cos I remember vividly up till now the second I tracked my application back in 2013 after waiting for over 4 months, and saw a medical request... I was about having breakfast, but instantly lost appetite.... My mindset changed from that moment, I started seeing Canada everywhere I go, started dreaming maple land, became very careful even while walking in my house... I remain grateful to God for His mercy endureth forever.

To the peeps delayed, never give up on your dreams...determination leads to success.

We shall all live to testify the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

Lastly, the person that was making mockery of the guys helping people here.... Saying all sorts of things.... You can now clearly see that God is at work. You tried Canada and it didn't work for you shouldn't warrant you coming to the thread to cause confusion and/or discourage peeps.

May God bless our hustles.
