I tracked my request today and its says my application is being processed at the ghana visa office. Just thinking it's quite fast o considering I submitted on 9th June. Make sure in your application, your minimum cost of living tallies with the amount they require.

What did you study in your undergrad? and how did you relate it to your choice of diploma and Welding?

I believe that is one of the miracles of your app.
I studied Physics in my UG, so i wrote in my SOP that Physics exposed me to carbon and stainless steel which are essential materials used in the fabrication of most engineering structures such as the high pressure oil and gas pipeline system. And during the program i discovered pipeline construction and integrity to be areas where i should develop my skills further and that Welding will equip me with detailed and more practical exposure on pipeline engineering material properties.

if you are flying emirates then you have nothing to worry about direct airside transit in dubai does not require a transit visa, however if you were flying delta airlines for instance which has its hub in US then would need a transit visa or a valid US visa in any other category.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by Team12: 5:31pm On Jun 24, 2015
I once heard that you do not need transit visa if you hold a study permit but i am not sure how true this is. Anyway, I have already started my USA visa app, because I will need to do a lot of travelling there to visit family. So i guess I am covered.

Emirate goes through Dubai and Chicago in USA. That's what I plan to use too...I love their services plus they are the most baby friendly airline grin

Not true! Some emirates flights now transit through USA (For example if you are going to Edmonton ) except you are going to Toronto.

Berexio1 any news?
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by C3PO: 5:35pm On Jun 24, 2015
C3PO:
I applied in May for my visa via online route but no decision has been reached.
There was a little gap in my employment then (in May) which resulted in me not including any employment details.
However, I have employment now and payslips for <4months.
I am really expectant of my initial application because it is pretty solid except the employment blemish.
Thinking ahead, if my initial application was "delayed", having my new employment details I plan on immediately reapplying.

But the conundrum is do I complete my Medical Test now before the VO makes a decision. For 2 reasons
1. If initial application is successful I'll quickly submit when requested by CIC.
2. Use it for upfront medical for my subsequent but immediate application to follow.

These two measures are ploys to accelerate my application decision.

House, please take time out of your busy schedule to share your views.

PO.

Thanks [quote author=berexio1 post=35023002]. Your advice is appreciated and duly noted.
