Have you watched popstar, David Adeleke aka Davido’s latest video, ‘Fans Mi’ featuring American rapper, Meek Mill?

Then you will agree that no child under the age of 18 should see it. Even though music videos have since been reduced to nothing more than scantily-dressed ladies shaking their butts, and the glorification of drunkenness, Davido’s video pushes the boundary of decency.

From the first view, one’s eyes are assailed by lots of cash displayed on a table with several types of guns. As if that is not bad enough, nearly naked girls are spotted dancing raunchily in almost every scene of the video.

The story-line of the video is worse. Davido tries to seal a deal with a drug dealer to supply cocaine while the dealer hands him cases of dollars for the transaction. Davido then goes back to his mansion where he can be seen aided by the brassieres-and-panties flaunting ladies preparing the cocaine. It is not until the end of the video that we get to see that the cocaine Davido delivered to the drug dealer was only semovita (a local Nigerian food).

We must ask though: what is he trying to teach his fans who are largely made up of impressionable youths? That it is okay to engage in the sale of illicit drugs to make money? Or that guns are now suddenly ‘cool’ toys to have?

Wizkid,olamide are far worse than davido who i still regard his lyrics as far reasonable.

Olamide is bad news to our children with lewd lyrics and wizkid is abnother bad type.

Out of ten sonfs badoo will only try to sing good contents in just 2 but the rest will be gutter songs.

Davido might have gone overboard in the vew video but he is far better than badoo and wizkid in terms of good videos n lyrical content.

We now watch porn in the bame of music videos.

idle hand is the devil workshop. if u had nt limited ur IQ to naija music u wnt be saying such rubbish. cant u people jst embrace evolution that is coming to our music industry, For God sake Nigerian brand is recognised by international star. be happy for that instead of saying the needless. instead ask questions of how the children got access of watching that video cos its only shown on 18+ channels.

I just watched the video now and honestly, to me this is the best of all Davido songs. It deviates from the usual beat he's known for and about the semi-nudity the OP talked about, I have seen worse in naija music scene than what he has in his video, Timaya BumBum and Olamide's Story for the Gods readily come to mind.

The only 2 things I dislike are the display of Gun and the cocaine part.
