Is it possible to buy stocks using for example XYZ stock brokers and Tell DFT stock brokers to help you process transfer forms for the stocks you bought with XYZ stock brokers. Secondly if I have 10 stocks being managed by same registrar, if i have my signature on one of the stocks with the registrar, do i need to process transfer forms for all the rest 9 before i can submit Edividend form.

Moneysage:

You missed out on the goodies that went with the NL crash between 10th January and 27th June 2014. For example, 2 days ago I searched for a link to free ebooks that Oga Elai147 posted on this thread, I didn't see it. Seems he posted it late January 2014. [Boss, biko, repost that link for your BiTL grin]

My oga, I can't remember the exact ebooks you referred to. I've tried searching through some of my post and like you mentioned, that particular post may have been lost when NL was hacked. Perhaps the following thread by Stockbull may be of help

There was a time I asked Meristem if they could process transfer forms or e-dividend (can't remember which) for stocks I bought via another broker but they declined and said they could only do it for stocks I have with them.

Yes, you need to process transfer forms for the rest 9 stocks even though they're being managed by same registrar.

If you buy stocks from XYZ broker, it is very possible to direct DFT broker to help transfer the stocks to your DFT account. The requirements are :
* account opening form ( enclose: copy of your international passport, driving license or voters card, two passport, utility bill)
* the stock transfer form which you are to ‎fill accordingly and send back to DFT broker along with:
* your current and up-to-date CSCS Transaction History
* a letter addressed to the Managing Director /CEO, DFT‎ and the Managing Director, CSCS.
* banker's confirmation ( from your bank, access bank charges 5K).
* bank statement ( three months at least)
* past dividend warrants of those stocks in you possession to prove ownership)

Lastly, there is need for the client to go to CSCS for his / her biometric ( this is not the requirement but very essential for all investors)

If you have for instance one stock that bears your signature with a registrar, the signature is enough to cover all amount of stocks you have have to link with e-dividend. You must include a letter quoting the stock with your signature alongside with e- dividend form for the registrar to cross check and act accordingly

On 1st of MAY when i posted the philosophy of Sell in May and Go away some termed it Tumbum- Tumbum analysis while others laughed over it, Now what is happening?

One miscalculation you make in the stock market can take you eternity to rectify.

Forget about all this jijo stories you are hearing a lot of trapped traders are simply trying to break even.

Presently Nigeria economy is in a total mess in other words if you areant in for a long term I.e 4yrs and above then it's better you sell your holdings and wait to re-enter in the last week of September.

Your analysis is well understood but why do you think that Sept.month Will be a better month to re- enter? Do feel that the economy must have gotten better by then?

If you have 10 stocks that are managed by the same registrar, and you maintain the same name, address and CHN for all the stocks, you should not have a problem. Provided you have your signature for one of the stocks with the registrar, you do not need to process transfer forms for the remaining 9 stocks.

I got my Afriland, APR and UBA Capital via e-dividend, even-though I did not apply for e-dividend for those stocks from the registrars, but I have a subsisting mandate that my UBA Plc dividend should be paid into my account.

Flour mills constitute about 33% of my portfolio. It has a very strong fundamental. The price is relatively very cheap at the moment. It is a company with a very strong brand and very high industrial moat.

The problem they have at the moment is huge financial charge and it has been eating very deep into their profit. They have huge debt. They are resolving the debt issue now and that informed their decision to divest from Unicem, their cement subsidiary. They want to concentrate on what they do best that is agrobusiness. They will use the proceeds from unicem divestment to pay off some of their debt and expand their core food business.

Bigass was referring to share transfer, not inter-member transfer which is what you described in the first part of your post.

@Bigass, please kindly contact the registrars for the said stocks to get the answer you sought since there are conflicting answers to your post- we were all trying to help. I have had this same issue with First Registrars. I had my signature processed for FBNH shares and have been receiving e-dividends, but I was asked to process one share transfer forms for each of the other stocks even though they were being managed by same First Registrars. I got dividend warrant by post on the other stocks while I received e-dividend payment on FBNH shares.

What the registrars told me was that I can only apply the same signature mandate on the same stock. For example, let's say you previously processed a mandate for FBHN and have been receiving e-dividend payment. If you buy additional units of FBNH, you will need to write to the registrars and request that they maintain the same mandate so that you can be receiving e-dividends for the total units of FBNH in one payment instead of processing a new transfer form.

I made some bucks from that stock during pre-election bear and post election bull.

Although, I have none of it in my portfolio now. Just watching it closely together with FBNH and FCMB/UBA to JI.

If you are eyeing flour mills to jijo, I don't know because mkt at the moment is better for medium to long time investors.

I think that flour mills might not give much dividend at this current year because of their numerous challenges. This is impacting on the share price at the moment. They want to offset huge part of their debt and they will raise money via right issue to expand their core food business. They need money badly now. Any investor at FMN must be up for a long term
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Elai147: 8:42pm On Jul 02, 2015
@JIJO traders

Sometimes, it is best to stay away from JIJO if the market does not present opportunities that you can use to your advantage. Taking a lot of risk for very little profit is not a wise decision. Only take risk when the potential reward of the trade looks significant. Always compare the amount of risk to the reward you are likely going to get from any particular trade.

I'm currently amassing flour mills, but should your prediction come to pass,I will use every available kobo, sell everything I have and collect as much loan as possible to JI.

But unfortunately, its not going to happen unless there is a market crash. (wth 15-18).

Flourmills is a very good stock for long term investors. Thumbs up@ angrybull
