Ndi Igbo, what do you call this fruit ?
I remember the first and last time I and my siblings are this fruit. Mother came home with it and gave it to us and we started eating it. Was so sweet and she wouldn't tell us what it is,but she was singing a song and in that song was the name.

Did you just wrote "sweetie" ? This thing is getting better than I thought grin
Anyway,I know the fruit but just wanted to know how much our people know about their forest. You can't find this fruit just anywhere ,they only can be found in deep forest. This particular one was found in Ogun state forest...lol. So,what do Yoruba call it?

It is called (Obi Edun) in Yoruba. It is a quite common fruit in the south west. I could count at least 5 obi edun trees around my school back in those days. OP, thanks for the sweet memories grin

obi edun in Yoruba. I licked it a lot when I was in primary school. after licking it, we look for an empty biro, we'll stab it with the empty Biro from head and tail, then we'll use a long broom to shoot it, don't know how to describe joor. it will now give a pop sound just like you put a silencer on a pistol.
