This is my first time of writing online so please, don't mind my writing and also know that critics are allowed to help me improve my writing skill...



There's no title for the story yet, Sandra is just temporal... maybe at the end of it, you the readers will help pick up a Title.


I get inspired when ever I watch a movie and I've written many scripts which some have no
t been completed lol
This story is as a result of an inspiration I got while watching a movie but its not in any way related to the movie

I will take my time writing so, I won't update regularly and please, your encouragement is needed...

Two hundred and twenty million dollars was nothing to sneeze at, no one in the vast echoing library of Doctor Jack Wilson would have dared except Sandra. She did so with more enthusiasm than delicacy into her handkerchief, after cleaning her nose and hands, she sat back wishing the drugs she had taken would live up to the promise of a fast relief infact, she wished she'd never caught the wretched cold in the first place. Another wish was to be anywhere else in the world but not here..


Surrounding her were people she hated and people she loved, books she'd read and hundreds more she'd never given a thought to, though she had spent hours and hours in the library but the room looks strange to her.

At a corner of the room was a marble and ivory chess where she had lost and also won matches. Doctor Jack had been a compulsive and skilled cheat, Sandra had never taken a loss in stride maybe it was the reason why he so loved to beat her either by fair means or by cheating.

Sneezes again "oh I'm sorry" said Sandra "please excuse me" she left the room, Sandra turned to see someone silently following her "oh mum what is it you scared me" her mum Mrs lilian Wilson is a very pretty lady, slim and tall that people always take her as her elder sister. "What is wrong with you? Its so obvious that you are nervous, don't give them the slightest opportunity to see fear in you" Sandra turned at the other side of the balcony, she then looks at her mum "mum you know I don't want to be here and..." Mum looks at her "my darling, where else would you be if not here? You know that you are his legitimate heir so don't let those evil men take that away from you"


Sandra sobs "you know I loved dad so much but we drifted after that lady came into our house with her bastard child claiming to be dad's" her mum comforting her "I know dear just be strong and let's go inside the Will would be read soon"

Miserable with grief, aggravated by a head cold, Sandra listened to Simon Wax drone on, and on, with the preliminary technicalities of her dad's will. Her dad had never been one for brevity, he'd always said if you were going to do something, do it until the steam is out. His last will and testament bore his style.

Not bothering to hide her disinterest in the proceedings, Sandra took a comprehensive survey of other occupants of the library. To have called them mourners would have been just the sort of bad joke her dad would have appreciated.


There was her Uncle Chinedu his only surviving brother and his wife, what was her name again? Sarah or? Does it matter? Sandra saw them sitting stiff backed and alert in matching outfit. They looked like lions ready to attack and devour


Her sister Joy -pretty, looks sweet and harmless. She was there in her black printed short, she sat back, one leg crossed over the other as if she was watching a fashion show, her mum had her hands on her and Sandra knew she wouldn't utter a word unless it were to echo trouble. Joy waved a little white handkerchief in front of her nose trying to show a sign of mourning. Sandra sighed, they'd never gotten along though she knew her dad wanted them to.


Her attention was drifted back by Simon Wax, with a half sigh, she blew her nose again and tried to listen to Simon. Another hour of this, Sandra thought if she heard one more whereas....on a long breath, Sandra drew herself in. She was here because she loved her dad, if it was the last thing she would do for him was to sit in a room with a group of vultures and listen to long rambling legalese, then she'd do it and once its over, she'd mourn him peacefully.


"To my brother Chinedu and his wife I leave my best wishes and the house in the village, they need nothing more"

"To my lovely wife Lilian Wilson, I leave my house in the states to you"

The grumbles that hadbegun with the first bequest continued and grew more, anger hovered on the edge of outrage.

Chinedu rose, giving new meaning to the phrase controlled outrage, "Mr Wax, my brother's will is nothing more than a mockery. Its obvious that he wasn't in his right state of mind when he made it"


"Mr Chinedu" Wax called clearing his throat "I understand perfectly your sentiments in this matter, however, my client was perfectly well mentally when this will was made. You can consult your own counsel later, meanwhile, there's more to be read"

"Doc Jack wrote this portion in his words" he paused a moment for courage. "To Sandra my lovely daughter, I leave the rest of my estate, in entirely, all accounts, all business interest, all stocks, bonds and trusts, all real and personal property"

Everyone in the room was shocked and before Mr Wax could speak again her uncle stood up and tried starting a chaos, for the first time, her step sis spoke in a calm and gentle voice "uncle, you are fascinating us by the little show you are putting on"

Nothing could have made her find control quicker, she angled her chin at him, hissed once, then subsided. "All right then" she turned and stood her ground "I apologise for the interruption, please finish reading sir"

Sandra was surprised at the composure of her sis and had a quick thought in her mind.

Wax gave himself a moment by using his handkerchief to polish his glasses " I leave all of this" he continued "the money and all to Sandra, she can only have access to this when she gets married and within the period of six months" Wax clears throat "in addition to that, if she dies before marriage, all my properties should be sold and given to all my surviving heirs and orphanages"


Her step mum Mrs Peace stood up "I don't go with the will, its outrageous..where would I and my daughter stay" Joy called out "mum please calm down, let him finish"


Wax continued "not forgetting my angel Joy and her mum, I'm sorry dear but in no way should they leave the house and be treated badly, they will leave there together"

For one minute, there was silence. Taking advantage of it, Wax began arranging his papers


Sandra drew out her handkerchief and sneezed into it then stood to leave with her mum when mum's co-wife called out "you and your witch mum has finally succeeded in destroying I and my daughter" Sandra turned and said to them "you guys are welcome to stay" then she left with her mum.

*phone rings* she picked the call with sleepy eye and heard at the background "hey bae" Sandra knew the sound of her friend's voice Chioma

"Hey, oh I'm so sorry that I couldn't make it to your birthday last night, you know dad's will was read yesterday" Sandra said to Chioma

"Ah ah!!! no prob na, I know you can't miss my birthday for anything unless its something more important" Chioma giggle "how was it? Infact, just keep the gist till I come"


"Okay dear I'm waiting and bring my cake...before I forget bring my drink too cos I need it" Sandra adjusted "see ya"


Sandra stood up, left her room without dressing the bed and got to the kitchen, she made herself a cup of coffee then headed straight to the sitting room "damn!!! just look at the mess I did last night" she said to herself.


After the proceedings last night, she dropped her mum and headed straight home, brought out the vodka she'd kept for her friend Chioma's birthday drank and cried. She could not even remember how she got to her bed. She drank the coffee then went to shower. Minutes later


*Knock on the door*


"I wasn't expecting so quick" Sandra said
"Babe forget that one joor, I get plenty gist for you and I can't wait to hear yours" Chioma said giving her friend a nice hug

They've been friends since their first year at the University and since then, they've never being apart

"Damn!!!babe did someone die in this room" Chioma said jokingly

Sandra slaps her butt "ta, with your big ass can't you see I was mourning" she picks up the tissues and throws them at the other end

"Lazy girl abeg carry that thing out joor" Chioma said picking up the tumbler "infact, just leave them there and gist me"


"What!!!! Was the next sound that came out from Chioma's mouth "you mean your dad left everything for you Babe na you be the biggest chick for town oh! What about that witch and her mum?"

Sandra laughs "please don't call her a witch, she's a nice girl and I like her"

"Abeg leave that one joor!!! Don't be deceived by her" Chioma began, then waved her hand "besides, you easily trust people"

Sandra interrupts her by sneezing

"So this your cold hasn't gone eh? Chioma asked

"Bae that is not the issue, the issue on ground now is how I can find a husband within six months" Sandra complains

Sandra is an A list nollywood actress but read medicine at the university of Calabar with her best friend Chioma who is an international musical star. She's an ambitious lady and hardly have time for the opposite sex while Chioma
is her opposite.


Sandra's late dad was never happy with her decision of becoming an actress and it caused the distance between she and her dad, he wanted to control her life she thought...
"even as he's dead he still wants to control it, I won't let that happen" she spoke out loud to the hearing of her friend.


"Babe forget it, if it is husband we will definitely find one for you" Chioma said to her friend. Now mocking her "what about that our Ghana guy" Chioma asked smiling knowing what her friend's reply would be


"Chioma, you've started oh!!! Shey you know I don't like that guy, the guy is too stingy joor and dark mtchew...." She kicked her friend "is that how you hate me reach? Ah Chioma...its not fair oh"

"Babe you know say na joke I dey joke na" Chioma says laughing "ah ah babe its a joke oh..please don't be angry"

"Leave me joor, I'm angry" Sandra replies back "infact I don vex so no food"

Both of them laughing loudly...Chioma stands up and drags her up "you think say I wan be Agbani like you? Stand up joor" couldn't drag her, so she gives up "okay then, stay there...no food no husband"

"Ah! Biko" Sandra shouts "oya let's go" both leaves for the kitchen

Now both in the kitchen Sandra dicing tomatoes, Chioma cutting veggies

"When will you be leaving for your dads house?" Asked Chioma

"Wax says I should move in immediately so, its definitely tomorrow" Sandra replies, she paused for some seconds then continued "hmmm, I don't know how I'd cope with my mum's co wife oh!! I can manage Joy but not her"

"Sandra, I've told you severally not to worry about that lady, when we get to the bridge we will find a way to cross"

"I know but its not going to be easy...i" Sandra gets interrupted by her

"I've told you to forget that matter...eh!! before I forget I met your co actor John last night, damn!!! The guy is so cute" now drooling

"Stop drooling that guy is not even fine" Sandra says

"With this your attitude I wonder how you'll find a husband, no guy is ever fine to you...abeg that guy fine jare, he is now on my list" Chioma says smiling "I can't wait to see and feel what's beneath his trouser"

"You and your list...mtcheww"

"You know tall guys d*ck are always long and hard"

"Please!! Please!! Don't spoil me" Sandra tries to close her ears but Chioma stops her

"Eh see madam virgin abeg leave my sight"

It was a pleasant drive, Sandra had always loved travelling. The drive always gave her time to clear her mind and relax but then, she'd always taken it at her own whim, her own pace and her own convenience. Sandra made it a habit to do everything just that way but this time is different, there was more involved than her own wants and wishes.


Now she had to look for a husband within six months "how is that possible" she said to herself she wanted to marry for love now how can she find a man to love within six months.


Now, because of her dad and his home had become her central point, she was agreeing to spend six months looking for a man to love if possible before she could inherit a fortune she never desired.

She was worn out from the drive, when she got out of the car, she felt a chill "finally" she said looking at the mansion again, she was surprised as how large it was. She'd never noticed the house was this big "God" she cried out.

A lady rushed out. She'd known her since her childhood "Mrs Jones" Sandra called out, that was her nanny the old lady took care of her when she was a kid.

"Hmmm...what's the secret to this your forever young beauty" Sandra was teasing her

"You've not changed with this your teasing eh" she exclaimed "you've grown to be a beautiful lady that your dad would be proud of"

Sandra smiles at her...Mrs Jones tries to pick up her luggages "no ma just leave them, I don't want you stressing yourself, will tell someone to bring them in"

Mrs Jones hugs Sandra "how is your mum doing" she asked

"She's fine" Sandra replies

She knew she'd still insist on carrying he luggage so, she distracted her "Mrs Jones I'd love some tea, I'm having cold and the long drive didn't help"

"Oh my dear...let me go make something to help ease" she rushes inside

Happy that her plan worked she told the security guard to alert the other servants to take it inside. Before she could relax on the couch, Mrs Jones came in with a cup of tea.

"Ah thanks" Sandra stretches "who's home?" She asked

"Oh! your step sis his up in her room sleeping I think, her mum just left some minutes ago" Jones said from above her head.

"Perfect" Sandra said

Before Jones could utter her next word Joy rushes down stairs

"My big sis" Joy said smiling " I was expecting you earlier"

"I got stuck up in traffic, how are you doing and where's your mum?" Sandra asked

"Well, mum went to church..what did you bring for me"

"Its inside will get it when settled" Sandra gets up and leaves for her room

"Can you imagine? That witch no dey fear face oh!" Chioma said angrily

"Ah ah! Babes she didn't do anything bad na besides, I admire her gesture"

"See, don't get me angry with this your bull*shit..admire fire mtcheww..."

"She's really nice and..." Sandra couldn't finish her statement when she heard a voice at the other end, both she and her friend turns to look

"What the fvck" Chioma said looking at Sandra as she's lost in words, surprised this was the first time of seeing such reaction from her..

"Don't tell me he is coming towards me" Sandra

He didn't need to come closer for her to know that he was tall, his hair was dark, his nose was straight and aristocratic, his mouth well shaped and solemn. Sandra didn't take the time to admire the way he took each step.

she said to Chioma "what the hell is he doing coming towards me?"

He got closer and looked at her in silence, the only movement a very slow lifting of his left brow. Unlike Sandra, he was taking the time to admire. He could see what he was doing to her at that moment, her eyes dark as jade and dangerous as a cat's. Her mouth, clamped together in fury, had a full promising lower lip that contrasted with the firm stubborn chin.

Casually he let his gaze slide down, she was a long one he thought, slim and curvy

"What are you doing" Sandra began in a low clipped voice

Instead of answering , he moved closer with a loose, easy stride that carried the air of command..the move smooth and elegant. Then he smiled, his face changed from dangerously sexy to dangerously charming, it was a smile that said, you can trust me...he held out a hand

"Miss"

He gently stroked her lower lip with his index finger. Sandra drew in one deep breath and let it out slowly

Nerve, he thought still studying her. She's got plenty of that. Hooking his thumbs in his pocket, he shifted back

"You had lipstick stain down there"

Sandra hissed now annoyed at her friend for not telling

"I'm sorry for disturbing you pretty ladies, I'm Elvis" he stretched out his hand

Sandra felt that quick, breathless pressure in her chest and recognised it. She let her gaze drop down to his hands and extended hers then lifted it to his face again.

"Sandra and that's my friend Chioma"

"Heya" Chioma waves and pretends not to pay attention to them..

"Wouldn't you want to loose that hand." She said softly

For a moment his fingers tightened as if he wasn't going to let go, he released it

"testy aren't you?" Elvis said mildly

They measured each other for a moment, both surprised to find the other attractive. Tread carefully, the command went through her head.

"I'm sorry, thanks for emmm.." She couldn't find a word

"No problem Miss, I just need a favour" Elvis said at length

Sandra's chin stayed up, but Elvis saw a shadow that briefly clouded her eyes. "Yes" she replied

"I've got two gowns and don't know which to pick for a lady like your friend" Elvis said searching through her eyes

Sandra chose one "the blue one is good" she said trying to take control of her emotions

"Aw thanks, you've just saved me a big deal" he leaves

Disgusted at him "how dare he?" She spat at him "can you imagine his guts?" She asked

Chioma now laughing uncontrollably "he really got to you didn't he?"

"He actually came to ask for my opinion to pick a dress for his wife"

"Well, I didn't see a ring..maybe its for his girl friend who knows"

"I really hate that guy"

"Elvis" Chioma interrupted "his name is Elvis"
