An insider's info! Anytime there is going to be recruitment, usually, members of the Service are informed to talent-spot persons who they feel have what it takes to deliver in the Service (but you know nothing can be kept completely secretive). Thereafter, applications will be written by intending recruits to the State Director of Security of the applicants' state of origin. Thereafter, aptitude test is conducted. Those who passed, usually not more than 10 per state, and that is if there is going to be massive recruitment, will go for screening to ensure they are physically and mentally fit. Results will also be screened to certify each candidate has requisite requirements. Sometimes the number further gets reduced in a situation where some couldn't scale through the screening process. Successful candidates get contacted view their phone numbers. If you're not contacted for more than three months, you don't need the Pope or Guru Maharaji to tell you that you've flunked.
Worthy of note is the fact that aptitude tests, screening and everything is done at individual state, though there are candidates for special formations irrespective of state of origin.
All successful candidates will converge at the training school, either in Lagos, Kaduna, Bauchi, or Abuja.
There are three categories of recruitment. There is for degree and Hnd holders, for diploma holders, and then for SSCE holders.

Please any advert from any source telling you to buy form for DSS recruitments are fraud, they don't sell form neither are you to fill any form online, also they don't place adverts for recruitment an insider will inform you when the time comes and you will submit your handwritten application with your credentials in person to your state of origin at their office. Also don't let anyone to deceive you that you should pay any money for assistance( gullible job seekers). Its secret so you need to someone to update you, after you submit and you are qualified they will send you a text for the exam. Please alert the service Op if anyone is selling the form.

The DSS needs to avoid politics... Also, in the past you never knew who was in the SSS, but now they openly talk about it, and openly show their place of work... Very sad... That's why a lot of people have lost interest...
