U should understand that the Us never mean well for nigeria, they would always refuse to assist us whenever we ask for their help. In the case of ebola, we all witnessed their stand. If not for God's grace, they wanted us to perish. Whoever that thinks that the US can do anything good for us is living in cloud cuckoo land.
That means DIY do it yourself. But do agree our Army are animals. I pray you don't fall victim in there hand.

[b]The US government teaches History to its children - not like Nigeria which hides its ugly past from its children.

During the mid 1960s, Nigeria Army watched as pogrom against people of southeast origin in the north of Nigeria went on; at the end, more than 30000 southeasteners were killed by northerners. No body was punished for that till today. Because of the pogrom, southeasteners declared a new country Biafra from Nigeria.

Between 1967 to 1970, Nigeria Army watched as starvation was utilized by its Commander-in-Chief, Gen. Yakubu Gowon, to fight against the southeast people in what was supposed to be a civil war; Nigeria remains the only country to use starvation of children as war tactic;
and at the end of the starvation process, more than 2 million people from the southeast region, mostly children, and including war prisoners, were either murdered or starved to death; none pf the perpetrators of that crime was punished till today.

Worse, the war ended, Nigeria Army war criminals were branded War Heroes Whose Labour Shall Not Be In Vain - as sang in the new national anthem.

The US government keeps records - the US can't supply arms to Nigeria to wipe out sections of its citizenry.

We've heard you, Sir! But, how about your overt military support for Egypt, placing her as the most equipped military outfit in Africa, and Israel? The former is no less a violator of human right than the Nigerian Military.Much as I don't support human rights abuse in any form, America's excuse flies in the face of her hypocrisy.

those ones are ever willing. Even though we destroy ourselves with the weapons.
If we buy from Russia, they will undermine this regime, back Niger Delta and Biafra.
Nigeria may never come back united again, because the military are fighting with caution knowing too that Amnesty International is watching, giving lots of opporunities to Boko...Militants and Biafra will take advantage of the weak military.

Patrick Leahy, an American Senator who sponsored the Leahy Law says that President Muhammadu Buhari should not blame the United States for not choosing to support the Nigerian Army.

The Leahy amendment prohibits the US Department of State and Department of Defence from providing military assistance to foreign military units that violate human rights with impunity.

Owing to the fact that the Nigerian military has been accused of alleged human rights crimes in its war against Boko Haram, the United States had refused to give the country the required assistance.

President Buhari had said on Wednesday, July 22, at the United States Institute for Peace that the law “aided and abetted” the campaign of bloodletting of Boko Haram.

In a response posted on his website, Senator Leahy said he could not be blamed for the atrocities committed by the murderers and rapists in the Nigerian military.

He said:

“It is well-documented by the State Department and by respected human rights organisations that Nigerian army personnel have, for many years, engaged in a pattern and practice of gross violations of human rights against the Nigerian people and others, including summary executions of prisoners, indiscriminate attacks against civilians, torture, forced disappearances and rape. Rarely have the perpetrators been prosecuted or punished.”

“This abusive conduct not only violates the laws of war, it creates fear and loathing among the Nigerian people whose support is necessary to defeat a terrorist group like Boko Haram.

“President Buhari ignores the undisputed fact that most Nigerian army units have been approved, under the Leahy Law, for U.S. training and equipment. Only those particular units against which there is credible evidence of the most heinous crimes are ineligible for U.S. aid. And even those units can again become eligible if the Nigerian Government takes effective steps to bring the responsible individuals to justice.

“I strongly agree with President Buhari about the need to defeat Boko Haram, and I have supported tens of millions of dollars in U.S. aid to Nigeria for that purpose. But rather than suggest that the United States is at fault for not funding murderers and rapists in the Nigerian military, he should face up to his own responsibility to effectively counter Boko Haram. He should direct his attention to the Nigerian military, and the Nigerian courts, and clean up the units implicated in such atrocities.”

All we need are motivated soldiers .boko haram has no tanks or fighter jets and yet the nigeria military has all that, with the combined force of chad and niger we can defeat boko haram . The senator says''i agree with president muhammadu buhari that boko haram must be destroyed but not with american weapon, mr president, here is tens of millions of dollars, see if u can bribe boko haram to submission. Americans are the most two faced people on earth. An average american reasons with his balls, hold them by the balls and they will sell their citizenship.Americans dont like beggars, they like ballers. PMB has just learnt the hard way. You dont put all ur egg in a basket.

I think you have difficulty in understanding simple lines. Do not let hate of the President affect your reasoning. The senator's assertion is infact launching a scathing attack to the past government. The war crimes were perpetuated under Jonathan and not Buhari's government. Go back to school.

Re: “don’t Blame Us For Not Supporting The Nigerian Army” – US Senator by hilli666(m): 9:48pm On Jul 24, 2015
Buhari is a novice and has made his first rookie mistake. What American wants is for you to follow the right protocol, which is not to go directly to the president to request arms...no far from it. You meet with lobbyist on K street, they hook you up with people in the military industrial complex then you work out a deal and trade oil and natural resources, like magic your cargo of pure, top notch, American grade, terrorist killing, goodness will appear - neatly wrapped with that good brand new smell that we all love so much - at your destination of choice.

Trust me the Americans want to sell you weapons but they also need plausible deniability especially knowing the Nigerian army.
