People bargain because you wouldn't be happy if your friend buys same time you buy at #900 for #500...It's more painful if both of you buy from same shop..... No matter how rich we're, nobody wants to be 'wasting' money....

I think they should also have fixed prices for goods.. some of them do that already.. There will be no room for bargaining, the price is this and that's it.. people that will buy the goods will buy....

It will be hard for small vendors to fix price for their goods love... Only the likes of Shoprite can do such. You know they get their products in different ways especially fruit sellers and live stocks....

Touching tho! Buh how can one ascertain the truth behind this claim, most people do extort, and buyers won't like to fall cheap. A Yoruba adage says "enia buruku lo b'enia rere je" (A person with bad character has contaminated the one with good character)

me I don't bargain much,I just leave if I can't pay the price.

As typical of Nigerians, some of the small vendors take advantage of that to reap unrealistic profit on top our head I guess that's why we no longer feel guilty when bargaining with them.

honestly, this kind of products are not the type i bargain fiercely.
i buy them if i like them. they are not the reason why i am not yet a multi millionaire

This is one of the most sensible posts I've read on nairaland. Abeg, who is not guilty? click share if u r not guilty, click like if u r guilty.

Reminds me of a classmate back in our 1st year who asked the departmental woman cashier if she could "price" the amount for departmental fees. Chai! I have seen people who even in these malls will price even though they know there won't be any cut.

Some of these petty traders can be greedy too. If you know the item is N200, why say it's N500? This gives room for serious bargaining. The one that makes me laugh or get mad depending on my mood is the one that will start telling you how much she bought a bag of the item on display the last time she went to the market. Or she'll say "it's because of you that I will sell xyz amount" hello? "Where do you know me ma?" Walk to the next table, you will get the item cheaper than the other table.

This is touching. Really touching but sometimes, these vendors also increase prices cause they feel you won't question whichever price they quote as they tend to judge you on your car, dress, phone and carriage

I've always wanted to help others who are not too buoyant like myself. God willing it shall come to pass.

In her heart, she cries, she's worried about how she'll survive with her children. She silently reassures herself that 'It's well. God will definitely provide.'' While you happily chop the luscious banana.

Take some seconds out and think about this, guys. Please don't bargain hard with small vendors like this. They do business not to buy designer bags, Gucci shoes but to LIVE and EAT!
