Goo day guys please I need help. I went with my gtbank MasterCard to an atm in a store and tried withdrawing but it kept telling me unauthorized access. Could it be because I never used the card in an atm in Nigeria cos once I collected it from d bank, I activated it and came over here.

Thanks guys.

Good morning guud people. I had my Visa interview in dec 2014 and was put on administrative processing. Status was recently updated in July but admin. processing continue and i was told they will get back to me when they are through. Note, the interview went well and ll documents including my passport were given back to me. Now, with this process still in progress, can i apply for a visiting visa (one week stay).
I am a working class and certainly would get a backing letter from my office but dont want to complicate issues.Hence, this question. Thanks all.

I suggest you wait till the outcome of your AP or you call th embassy because if applying for new visa category the embassy will tell you that you have open case with them and I hope that won't raise alarm of intending migrant..

For folks just coming in, my kobo advise for you on money and card ish is this. Bring as many cash as you can, take the pain and use the bureau de change in the airport, nigerian bank cards can Bleep u up when you least expect it here. Bring your cash, open an account as soon as you come in and you will get an atm immediately. You can only support your spendings with your naija card, don't rely on it. It still diappointed a friend I went out to shop with yesterday even though the cards were from GTB and Zenith banks.

Just saying from my experience.

Why withdraw and get charged twice. First GTbank will charge and the bank you used their ATM will charge you as well. Why not swipe your card, it has never disappointed me. Or go and buy money order with your card and deposit in your bank.

Its instant activation.

If you get an error like that, it implies two things either its has been blocked for a particular reason or you have mistakenly used it anyhow or somehow..

Try and email them and ask question concerning why you got the message of NO VALID RECORD CAN BE FOUND FOR THE ENTERED RECEIPT NUMBER

Which email address do I send the message to?

I see but were him placed on AP before denial? Coz i cannot fathom why the embassy will deny him visa and still hold on to his passport?

If you activated it then, you shouldn't have issues with it. Have you tried calling their contact center? Meanwhile, how much are you trying to withdraw?

I have never experienced downtime on my GTBANK card although, it isn't my main card. That said, I don't support the idea of moving with cash instead, I would advise you make a copy of your i-20, leave it with whoever is going to transfer funds to you, get to the US and open a bank account and send the details to the person. S/he can then go to the bank in Nigeria to wire funds to you.

3 Gallons of palm wine, 4kolanut and 3 alligator pepper.

If it's lagos or Abuja, all you need is the slip you were given at the embassy

It's not really advisable to use your Nigeria Bank Card to withdraw cash from ATMs in the US. I don't know about GT bank but Zenith charges 3% of the amount u withdraw.

Appointment date has changed, your confidence level has changed coupled with your response. Lol

All these depends on what you smell was the reason for the denial. Usually this question do not come up. Just incase it does, tell him/ her your confidence level if you feel the reason for the denial wasn't convincing

You do make us laugh. grin
How does anyone on here know your life?
Only YOU know the reason for your rejection in the past.
Only YOU know what has changed to improve your chance of a visa.

Do you want someone to make up a lie story for you. shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked

With the ongoing banking reforms going on in Nigeria it is apparent some of the services we could enjoy before will no longer be available.

POS purchases are still available but swiping for money order is generally not working...anybody that has used that service should let us know.
Remember you have a daily limit of $300(including charges).

For atm withdrawals...I tried it recently and got the same error message "unauthorised transaction". Someone told me to select "Credit" when selecting type of account (havnt verified that though).

For new card users, make sure your card is provisioned for online banking and International transactions.

For further questions/complaints, please call. GTConnect. grin (Non-employed spokesperson)

swiping for money order is working smoothly just like swiping at any grocery store and you can purchase even $1000 money order with it. The daily limit withdrawal if you guys pay close attention to details is restricted to ATM withdrawals and not POS

That's what I've been doing in the past but it stopped working for months now... I tried one day and the teller asked for a "company code"...it was the strangest thing...

I tried a couple more times after that and it still won't go through... I had to give up! Gtconnect was just speaking grammar.

I agree with you but it's stopped working for me. My bro in OKC also tried but no luck.
