Manonamission:

You don't need to notify the registrar. Your information is passed on to the registrar by CSCS. But you may go ahead and request for a "Transfer form/signature mandate form" from your broker. The registrar MAY request for your signature specimen if they don't have it and it also depends on the warrant value. They might just post if the value is not much.

I stand to be corrected.

In the banking sector, the best long term stocks are GTB and Zenith. Access is also a good one in terms of dividend payment. GTB is stronger but more expensive. There is no need to own both GTB and Zenith as both are very much alike in performance strength and dividend payment. You can go for Zenith and Access as an undergraduate. If you have money you may risk FBNH but try not to get too exposed to banking stocks.

Roger that!!!...thank u Sir

It is not a must, you can post it to the registrars yourself after taking it to your bank for their signature and stamp. You only need to process e-dividend form if you want the money to be paid into your bank account and you may not be able to process e-mandate before payment date except you are resident in Lagos. If you are not able to process it before payment date they will post it to your address.

The effort is in vain unless the registra have your specimen signature in their system

Yes, that's true.

@ukay2, you also have to process a share transfer form via your broker. So if you are not in a rush just wait for them to post the dividend warrant to you.

Elai147 is correct, they will post payment (cheque) to her address. They do not need signature specimen to post a cheque.

Unfortuantely, it may take months before she gets it or she may never get it. However, she can always follow the process of getting a signature specimen and e-dividend form sent to the registrars (whenever she can) then take the expired cheque (if more than 6 months from date on it) to be revalidated or just say she has not received it. They will then schedule an e-payment to her account.

oh! I see the point on e-dividend without signature specimen grin

Given the option to choose between GTB and Zenith, I will choose Zenith.

Once you qualify for Zenith dividend.maybe you should just cross into ACCESS so that you can have more shares and also take additional dividend........You will better off that way by killing two birds with one stone..................

If you are going for long term, look for fundamentally sound stocks.....I'm an intermediate bie though but I'd say FBNH, Zenith and GTbank are OK at "right" prices.....Then maybe Dangote Cement or any good food & beverage stocks that pays good dividends, you can check the company dividend history on cashcraft.

Caveat:No start with long term come go dey check the stock prices everyday o......all the best
because of temptations lol
