But it depends on what they are popular for.

Some are popular for being political thugs and touts.

Some others are popular for being jobless and always struggling to be the first to comment.

A few others are popular for making funny but yet insightful comments like friedplantain

Honestly, it was a shocker not seeing the name, "Safarigirl" on dat list. It was kinda preposterous. Even several of the names mentioned by Friedplantain and Safari honey are definitely some of Nland's popular ones.

As 4 me, I know my place here. Like I've always told them in d U-20 thread on d sports section, I'M LIKE A MORULA COMPARED TO PEOPLE HERE WHO ARE 2yrs or older on nairaland. I only came in on may 23 this year so I'm 'practically' still a Newbie myself on dis forum. I'm not trying to get any1's applause wit dis, I'm just saying, truth be told, the OP got it 65% wrong on my scale. Not dat I'm qualified to make such a list but if one's a brilliant observer, u can distinguish d elders 4m d newbies lyk masef.
But of course, duration alone is not d criterion 4 popularity on nairaland but it's vital coz dis forum is approaching d 1.5 million mark and trust me, u cant meet a quarter of dis number in just 6months or even a year. But I also believe 'Content' and 'Substance' oozing 4m one on dis forum dat influences a lot of pple 4 good shud make such popularity sensible.

But in finality, I ask this... WHAT EXACTLY IS THE POINT IN MAKING SUCH A LIST?

This is primarily a forum 4 shared knowledge and information not a popularity contest. But of course, in a gathering of thousands and millions it's no crime to see a few stand out....... Be it for good, be it for bad. It's kinda inevitable...
