...point of correction, a man or woman in delta who speaks ibo and bear igbos name will never accept being called an ibo person. There is a thick difference between the both side of the Niger river. If you are not from that region, please find out. Go to Asaba for instance and see how an Asaba or Ibusa person will address an Igbo man from Onitsha. You have no right to generalise that statement. Western igbos are well represented in Ohaneze, the pan sociopolitical igbo group and even held the post of president. We understand the civil war, geopolitical spacing and other misgivings have brought some unaligned views, but read or ask about these people before the civil war broke out. Yes, you wrote a good history and it's commendable. But they are the most selfish Nigerians I have ever come across. A delta man makes money to suffer a neighbour or enslave others. And that is why any Delta man that finds himself in a position is usually corrupt to enrich himself alone becos he feel it's his time to loot. A delta man can build a big mansion inside a street but would not look at the street to tar it or make it motorable for all to benefit. He prefer to suffer with others rather than using his money. He can buy diesel for his generator for a year, a cost that can bring a powerful transformer and connect better power, but he can't because he feels he can't be poor again and others should wait on government. They like to show class and fight of who has had the best in anything creating unhealthy rivalry leading to assassinated killings. They have no regard for neighbourliness and stupefied, puffed up with nepotistic, gingoistic attachments. If you don't begged a deltan for something, he does not know you are existing. I'm totally sincere about this, and that is the reason, despite the roll call the poster has made development is far from attainment. In fact Delta holds the highest wins in the Nigerian sports festival that is staged like the olympics in the country, but look at their best stadium in warri or the abandoned one in Asaba, an eyesore. Unless deltans change from these unholy and unworthy attitude of being called a state that eats up its inhabitants, nothing positive will happen. Deltans we learnt wept at first when they saw the development of FCT and that started militancy in the Niger Delta. But add up all the fat allocations, 13% derivations over the years and you ask what happen? The money by now will be more than what they used in building Abuja. They are just impossible! 7 Likes |

You have no right to generalise that statement. Western igbos are well represented in Ohaneze, the pan sociopolitical igbo group and even held the post of president. We understand the civil war, geopolitical spacing and other misgivings have brought some unaligned views, but read or ask about these people before the civil war broke out.
Again, the Onitsha Igbo is the same stock with some Western /Delta Igbos. THEY are of the EZE CHIMA CLAN having one progenitor with most Delta Igbos according to oral history. I bear an ibo name unfortunately, but I'm from Ika "Agbor" in Delta.The person you are trying to correct is more accurate than you in miles.The statement in bold is wrong.I am not ibo and would NEVER EVER EVER like to be regarded as a part of that disgustingly accented and crafty tribe. 3 Likes |
