Hello bro, please can one work on the site from Android phone? Must it be laptop?
Thanks

@daniel Yes. You can navigate the site and send bids for jobs using your android phone. Laptop comes in handy, when you have to execute the job when awarded. I recommend getting a laptop, cos you will always need it

Op how much have you made from those sites? I challenge you to show snapshots if your earnings. Nobody will come here to talk balderdash about what they have not practiced.

I was a special invitee to the Elance conference in VI some years back. I can tell you that I am sure u have not made up to $1000. If you have show us or tear down this thread.

Nigerians would just go and destroy our reputation on those sites. That is the major reason i do not share this kind of information on public forum. Lots of unserious folks here. They would just start spamming the sites and not delivering works.

I have some other sites i'm a member of too, but i can't share them here. Can we work together?

stagger:

Matthew chapter 13 verse 10 - 15

10 And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?”

11 He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.

12 For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.

13 Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.

14 And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says:

‘Hearing you will hear and shall not understand,
And seeing you will see and not perceive;

15 For the hearts of this people have grown dull.
Their ears are hard of hearing,
And their eyes they have closed,
Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears,
Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn,
So that I should[a] heal them.’

16 [b]But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear;

17 for assuredly, I say to you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.

The words of Jesus Christ Himself. Treasure is only revealed to those who have eyes that see, ears that hear and brains that understand!
boss easy, nothing give joy more than knowing that someone out there is proud of you. . God who lifted you up will never let you down.. Just be patient with us newbies..

I am very impressed with this thread. As a matter of fact I have been wondering why Nigerian youths are not very active on upwork especially.

I outsource all non-core skills in my business to upwork and I am always happy. This year alone I have spent $2400 dollars on upwork.

All my workers have been indians as they have great ICT skills.

God bless victor101for opening this thread but first I will point out something....do not have money alone as a motivation. Yes money should motivate you but do not make it all about money. Believe me you will not be hired.

My first worker did my branding for $150 and since then I have retained him as my permanent brand consultant. I have paid him over $1000 since last year December.

As someone has said here GET VERY VERY GOOD in some skill. Do not carry this Nigerian shortcut, quick route mentality to upwork. You will not succeed.

I like the fact that I will review you and pass the results to the site owners without you seeing what I reviewed. There is also the reviews you can see.

Its sort of an online HR department for my company. I assess workers report and decide who to hire. So first thing first, GET A SKILL AND BE TERRIFIC IN THAT SKILL.

Anybody complaining of the government as a youth in this current global economy is a joke.

HERE, I HAVE SUMMARIZED HOW YOU GET PAID

You bid for job---> get awarded---> Client fund the job on Escrow ---> You finish the job ---> The client reviews what you've done --->You request for release/approval) of payment ---- The cash gets to your profile(after some days of verification) ----> You initiate withdrawal to your method of payment(Payoneer)

As for this guys here, please do not be too unfair with them. All we need do is watch them and learn from them. Until now there r yet to ask us for money. When ladywriter started Her THREAD, many called Her all kind of names but today she has help countless number of nairaland users. My advice to OP is to update the THREAD showing others what to do. Just like ladywriter did. Or if you are not chanced you draw a table of content and post it so people will know when you will teach and when not. Thanks

I couldnt help but laugh. This is really hillarious.

The guy has legitimate fears knowing how some Nigerians can reason. He rightly fears Nigerians will be banned from working there and he will lose his income. Economic fear it is. Well, @victor101 see the humour in his email.

The guy just needs to learn how to pass his message without being so vulgar.

Having said that, I unfortunately feel that with the seeming desperation that some have already exhibited his logic is valid.

Well, for us that hire people from upwork and would love Nigerians to benefit too, ONE ADVICE - TAKE IT EASY! You won't make money that fast.

well, I have known stagger for long and I know he is not lying about his earnings. He is an oldtimer bro people do not know why he act the way he does.

This is Nigeria and people don't release ATM info anyhow for certain reasons. One of which is because they suffered so much through thick and thin to get there and because when they needed help no one helped them. Some People don't appreciate good things that they get easily. I am a witness to that.

I single handedly helped a nairalander on here and showed him the way and guided him. He never showed any sign of appreciation. The worse was when it got to point when it seem like was about to make as much as €x,x x x (mid 4 figures). WhenI finally saw he true colour, I left the thread. Like Stagger said, the person he helfped never said thank you. So I understand what it feels like and I am sure it added to why he acted the way he does.

As for the mumu wey dey say whites don't pay Nigerians I pity you and you claim you make money online? I am sure you make naira money online and in small margin.

Shiiits is happening everyday and every minutes... Moutains are being moved and rivers are over flowing.

I personally have earned a lot of dollars online and even almost closed $5000 deal a few weeks ago but the stupid idiot tried to play smart by using a different email start renegotiation.

I played along just to see where it will end and they offered $800. I declined and never contacted.

I want to move from that line of business because it doesn't fit my kind of need anymore for certain reasons.

Thanks for ur contribution. No matter how many pple u help, don't expect equal amount (if any) of appreciation from them. Even Christ healed 10 lepers, but just one came back to say "thanks". I can assure u that your reward will come, not from d one u help, but from our creator above, u may hv forgotten abt d help, but God who doesn't sleep will never forget...little things we do either paves or closes ways for us.
I live in Lagos n would like to contact u, so u could personally guide me on making it online. Since graduation, I've got nothing tangible doing n would appreciate your professional guidance. Good bless u. I await your response. My mail is ddenofaustin@yahoo.com. GOD RULES,

Why do I have this feeling that most people on this thread are not willing to take action? Instead, they are trying to prove others wrong.

You guys should change your mindset. Abi na motivation writer una dey wait for to write epistles before una begin take action?

If Mr. A is making money online, what makes you think you can't if you learn how Mr. A is doing it?

I understand his fears, but why being afraid, what goes around always comes around. What you think you know, thousand others knows it, it will be surprising that million more knows it better than you.

I just laugh the guy; sent the mail with "I need help" with such offensive contents. Just like there are lot of Indians, Pakistani, Kenyans, South Africans, on these freelancing sites too. What stands you out of course is your SKILL(S) THIS CAN NOT BE OVEREMPHASIZED! Whether you're a Nigerian or not. If a client is not pleased with your service, He/she will not pay for such service, you get paid for the excellent service rendered. Period!

So Femi fear not!

Shalom.

Its funny how no one has still mentioned the needed skills even 5 pages down.
If you haven't noticed yet the OP is just a slave driver who dropped his freelance site he'd use in controlling slave labour for established firms. He's no different from a scammer only that rather than giving nothing he'd pay peanuts to hardworkers and pocket the major share from wages earned.

If you know the skills needed then let me and others know.

I will be contacting you and others who have sent me messages in due course. Presently we are very full. This set is being trained with a grant I got from a foreign foundation so you can only imagine the rush we had for the few spaces available. I am working on getting a N4million grant from another foreign foundation. By October I will know the outcome of my application. I am hopeful it will be approved so that appropriate scholarship can be given to those who need to learn some cool skills so that you won't have to pay for the training.

So keep up with the prayers.
