Google is there for you. Take time out to search Google for all you need to know about freelancing on Upwork.

Don't limit yourself to page 1; go to pages 2, 3, 4, 5 and so on till you are satisfied. Anything you need answers to, ask Google. If you are someone who can't assimilate knowledge by reading, then personal tutoring is the best bet for you.

NB: if you are using ur phone, first of all, go to d settings of the website and click on "desk top site". This will make everything easy to see and navigate through.

Just like the name, Virtual Asistants are people who asist their employers to complete certain tasks over the Internet. These tasks may include data entry, content creation, social accounts management, clients/customers/partners cordination, emails/calls/contacts management etc etc. The list can go on endlessly depending on who hires you and in what industry/niche he or she is. Just see yourself as a PA or secretary. Some employers will even require you to be online for a specified number of hours within a specified number of days each week. But others may work with you only as the need arises.

Practice is the pathway to mastery. So your best bet is probably to go and signup, get skilled up and start hustling for your next Upwork boss.

You can add up to 10 skill-categories to your profile. Of course no one will stop you from adding both graphics design and article writing as parts of your skill sets, but from marketing perspective, doing so would make you look unprofessional to many potential clients.

One of the keys to success as a freelance professional is SPECIALIZATION. This is true even if you are multi-talented. Trying to appear as jack of all threads will make potential clients percieve you as a master of none. The shocking truth is that both graphics design and writing are each too wide that hardly would you see a person who can master either in all of its facets. So your best bet is to FOCUS on the area that's your absolute best and for wich you are freaking passionate.

That said, if you want to go for writing, the first thing you should really consider is whether you are cut out for fiction or non-fiction writing. Very few abnormal folks have excelled in both, but the vast majority of those who try to do the same usually end up as mediocre writers.

Now, even each of both the fiction and non-fiction writing genres still has lots of sub-genres that you'd still need to screen and choose the one to master. For example, in non-fiction, you have business writing, journalism, and biography etc. But that's not all. Each of these three mentioned sub-genres of nonfiction writing still has many sub units. For exampke under business writing, you still have stuffs like white paper, email, copywriting, case study, reviews, brochure, adverts etc. This is also true about journalism in which case you talk about news reporting, investigative writing, feature writing, press release and so on. I've not even mentioned the more technical stuff like academic writing and scientific writing etc. The point is that all these are still under nonfiction writing. We've not said anything about fiction writing, mind you.

Just as writing is broad so also is graphics design - not just about the type of designs but also about the type of graphics design tools you are able to use masterfully.

The rational of my drift is that serious specialization will make you a better freelancer and land you better contracts at the long run.

You can even specialize in serving a particular type of clients too. But that's a story for another day.
