Could remember the last time those idiots visited our neighbors while i was a very young, when they were leaving they stopped by popc's window to tell him our house was next. [/b[b]]Every night was spent in a hotel for almost a month before those criminals were caught by vigilante.

At 11pm last night, I was awoken from sleep when I heard footsteps at the window. There is a curfew at 7pm and at that late hour, it is expected that people are in their various houses. This is not the fist time robbers have attempted to break into my house but this was intense.

I quietly got up from the sitting room floor I was laying on and moved to the bedroom to join my grandmother and baby cousin on the bed.
Gradually, the footsteps heightened and from the room window I could see men standing. My heart sank and I suddenly, I had a hard time breathing. My grandma tried to calm me down and it seemed to worsen.

I wasn't wearing any cloths and I usually sleep and thought of getting something to put on. These robbers sometimes rape girls and it doesn't help to be naked in the first place. That would cause some noise so I decided to forego the thought.

They started to spread out. A number of them moved the front and some went far out to the background. The ones at our window kept talking in whispers. I really couldn't fathom what they were saying as my heart was racing faster than I could ever imagine and suddenly I heard these words 'pass me my gun.'

I think I died! Immediately I turned into a prayer warrior, mumbling incoherently in whatever tongues I could speak. I asked God to forgive my sins, I thought of hiding under the bed or inside my grandmother's wardrobe. But what about her and my cousin of 4years?
I tapped grandma to tell her what I just heard and she assured me to keep calm, my cousin on the other hand was very much asleep. I instantly wished I could turn into a child and be unaware of what was going on in my surrounding.

Taking a pillow I covered my head and put a fingerin each ear. Their voices grew louder and just then, a dog started to bark. I have always hated that dog (and all dogs generally), but I think it helped us.It barked violently from a distance and seized a bit. Then resumed, this time even more and came towards our window, running and barking. I could hear the footsteps of the thieves fading as the dog got near and soon after, there was a heavy downpour; the kind that shook the place.

They went to other people's Windows and probably other compounds. The rate of robbery in some parts of Rivers State is becoming alarming. Needless to say, I am not sleeping at home tonight. Should my heart keep skipping this way, I may have hypertension before 20.
thank God for ur life; many weren't as fortunate as you were. U look so young and innocent; we live in a wicked world, trust no one but God and love him above all.

The granny called the dog.

It's Basic black magic village hunters use. Some of you won't understand.

Thank God for sparing your lives. It's a pity what our country has turned into. This ugly development beats me! Please, endeavour to get the number(s) of the nearest police station, when next you hear such footsteps, silently call the police. Above all, be prayerful. That dog deserves a nice gift. I ve had really nasty experiences with dogs, however, I have come to appreciate some dogs and their act of bravery. My neighbour's dog gave me and a friend quite a scare when I moved into my house, but now we re best pals. There was a day I needed my friend to get some stuff from mine and post it off (I was busy at work), my neighbour's dog didn't even allow my friend close to my door. He harassed my friend like crazy and the dog's owner had to come out and calm the situation. I respect that dog now, he watched over my property in my absence. I still keep my distance from other dogs (known and unknown), but the dog next door has warmed it's way into my heart.

Funny things. Reminds me of when robbers invaded our neighbors. I woke up to get my machete in preparation for an eventual attack only to find my wife looking for her bra. I was curious to know how she intended to fend off the robbers with a bra. she told me plainly she does not want the robbers to see her pointed bobby.
O boy na there I begin to laugh.

Op, please don't mind these members asking where you stay in PH, I mean what is the essence of the question? Were you the three musketeers that went to the area? Even armed robbers sef are either guests or members on NL, so answering that question is at your own undecided risk.
We thank God they didn't succeed, obviously they just stopped at your window to discuss and not to enter your apartment.

smh...ur method of reasoning is quite alarming.

asin ur brain didn't tell you they could be asking that question for the purpose of tightening up security or alerting a friend or family member who stays in such area??

Always try to barricade your doors andlock all windows before going to bed.
Never sleep nakid if you are a ladyor keep your clothes close by if you must do so. Those sons of the devil will show no mercyto a nakid woman if theygain entryto your apartment.
Above all say your prayers before you sleep and live each day as if it is your last.
Good luck and God protect us all since the government has failed to do so.

is a terrible experience i dont even wish to my enemy. I have been a victim....3 good times. I nearly lost my life on the third time they came. One of them wanna rape my girl in front of me. I got angry and suddenly i dont know what happened. one of them started warning the other never to try it.....The next day i packed out. I now have issues with sleep. From 1am to 2am am always awake....i wouldnt know what wakes me up. i believe is the side effect of the robbery incidents

there is serious security threat in the country now. dog is good but not too good because heavily armed bastardds will just gun the dogs down. total of 6 cars were snatched from their owners this week in portharcourt alone! security operatives are doing their best but their best is not good for enough. streets should as well organize local security.
