Look at the handsome men and beautiful women. Very easy on the eyes. Not some cultures where you see pictures displaying ugly grooms with horrifying tribal marks like demons. |

[quote author=MadCow1 post=39049658] Nne, its called stereotyping. "Igbos love money" is the standard stereotype. Now speaking of brideprice. Your folks may have accepted 150,000 for your sisters Igba Nkwu, but I can tell you there are people whose list have topped 1.5million Naira. Especially ndi Owerri. And before i'weputa mma gbuwa'm isi, abu'm Nwanne gi nwoke. [/the place u are talking about are u from there or someone told u?how can they ask an in law to bring 1.5million?did they state what the money is for really? |
Re: A Picture Gallery Of Igbo Traditional Marriage Ceremony "Igbankwu" by MadCow1: 5:18pm On Oct 16, 2015 |
karbridals: Nna lekwa nu'm exam question o.. No.. There is no place in Igbo land that your inlaws will ask you to bring 1 Million Naira for Brideprice. 'QUOTE ME' That said; If your In-laws give you a list that includes a box of 'the Most expensive wrappers', Jewellery for your Mother In law, expensive outfits for your father-in-law, Umunna list, Umu Ada list, some even give sibling list. Then they start placing ridiculous numbers of yams, goat, cow, e.t.c. Biko rapu okwu.. I know what I am talking about, no be rumour or hearsay. "Some" Igbo Families do go overboard in their demands for marriage. I know of a case were the guy did not return to the girls fathers house after collecting the list. Traditionally, the list is very cheap.. But the "greed" of some families cost way way more than the list. 3 Likes |

Jenny1010:u better dont mind him.. Ashebi is derived from english word "i shall be" so the single ladies on dsame uniform is telling their frnd getting married that they shall be like her. So is not a yoruba word aso ebi as d guy claim. Their mayb aso ebi but ours is ashebi |
