Only in Nigeria, someone is looking for help and you all be dropping numbers like call center agents.

OP, Konga and Jumia are designed using an e-commerce platform called Magento. You can actually install it just the way you install wordpress if your Web host have an auto installer. If there's no auto installer, you can download if from their (Magento) official website and install it via ftp.

Update: Konga and Jumia are not using Magento any more.

alright. Why I said so was because I asked someone I met here to design a website for me and he requested I pay him almost 500,000 naira shocked . That's pure scam. Cant trust anyone I met here anymore and will like everyone keep to topic by not posting their own website link and phone number and answer my question if they can.

Every Company have their charge rates.

What if I tell you that some companies charge as high as 1 - 2 million for developing certain websites.

Do you think Jumia or konga was developed with 500,000 Naira Budget.

And mind you, they use magento just for its framework.

They still build their theme themselves

Jumia now use "ELM" a javascript programming language just like angular

Konga Prototype.js

Payment Integration alone can cover up to 150k.

VPS - virtual private server nko? Do you think jumia or konga run on shared host of 15k

Blured, Do the right thing and apologise.

Below is a screenshot of a job advert on outsource:

Here is a link to a VPS pricing:

https://www.liquidweb.com/vps.html

Notice their 4gb plan is about 312, 000 Naira for 1 year after converting.

while their recommended plan is about 168,000 Naira for 1 year after converting.

Here is a link to interswitch pricing:

https://connect.interswitchng.com/documentation/getting-started/

Notice they are priced at 150,000 Naira for one time setup fee.

Some people are actually good at what they do. undecided

Well said Whisp3r!

Every Client has an iota of what they want; just that they don't know what a dynamic or static website is. I'm sorry about my last sentence, just that I like to take things from the known to the unknown when I explain.

Blured, you can't get a Ferrari at the price of a BMW 3 Series. Also, let me tell you this, I placed a bid of #7m for a Lagos State software contract in January 2012 and I lost out. I was told in confidence that I had the lowest bid, still I lost out. It's not always about the money. I've not gone through your full post Blured, except through my mentions, and I don't know what you want bro. But whatever it is, I'll be glad to walk you through every minute detail as a Web Presence Consultant that I'm. Send me a pm

it wouldnt be a website company but a dedicated server or something like that.

it's not the same as the free websites or blogging things.

Do you even know what a dedicated server is?

For your information, Jumia and Konga built their platform themselves.

They have in-house developers working for them.

Let's do the maths. Lets assume they have 10 developers working for them including their graphics department,

each person collects a minimum of 100k per month that is 100k x 10 = 1m for 1 month

Then the project lasts for about 3 months, that is 1m x 3 = 3m

I will assume the OP doesn't know what he wants

hmm. Interesting. In-house developers caught my attention the most. Anyways sincere apologies if my post caused you any damage.

I believe those in house developers of konga and Jumia signed some agreements before they were employed and made to work in house and service wasn't done remotely because I dont really see this remote and distant service really cool without seeing the developer to make agreements with him face to face and knowing him personally.

Apology accepted.

The developers are employed as staffs of jumia or konga after negotiating on their salaries.

After completing the project, they would be retained to maintain the platform developed.

Yes they work from within jumia or konga company.
Since they have a physical office, they employ them the same way they would employ a marketer or customer care.

They usually sign a NDA Non Disclosure Agreement.
That is why you will never see any of them publish links to jumia or konga and say they designed their platform.

OK. Thanks . That travel website you said you designed, did you sign a Non Disclosure Agreement with them? and did they retain you to work as a developer with them?

I don't know about jumia. But Konga and dealdey was developed and still being maintained by a company I interviewed with called "vinsol". The 2 were built from scratched using ruby on rails.
Dealdey was the first which was to mimick Groupon and Konga was built after dealdey success and was to mimick ali express.
The company is a
well known Indian company. you can check them out and you will find Konga in their portfolio.

Also, as for how much they cost. It's nothing less than 30k dollars for the dealdey project. But take not that Konga will Def cost more.
