BUSINESS TIP WORTH OF CAPITAL In business, location determines the worth of your capital. The worth of a million naira capital in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt is less than the worth of a million naira capital in Ebonyi, Nasarawa and Osun. I mean that the start up cost of the same business in the two locations i categorized above is higher than each other. With a million naira capital in Ekiti state, you can get an office and furnish it with N100,000 - N150,000. Whereas in Lagos or Abuja you might spend up to N600,000 to get the same size of office. What i'm driving at is that a million naira capital in a location with higher start-up cost worth less compare to locations with lower start-up cost. 2 Likes 1 Share |

I think importation is one of good businesses in Nigeria, like you said Nigeria is hugely depended on importations from outside. The reason why i said this is that we export Scaffolding Products, such as Scaffolding Steel Props, Scaffolding Couplers, formwork clamps to Nigeria, which is done in a large quantity, and my customers told me that it is very profitable to sell those products in Nigeria.

3 WAYS TO SECURE A JOB. INTRO Knowledgeable sources have over the years found out that the population of every economy is divided into two categories, the economically active and the economically inactive. The economically inactive population refers to people who are neither working nor looking for jobs. Examples include house wives, fulltime students, invalids, those below the legal age for work, old and retired persons. The next category, the economically active population or working population according to economists, refers to the population that is willing and able to work, including those actively engaged in the production of goods and services (employed) and those who are unemployed. Whereas, unemployed persons in the considered view of economic experts, refers to people who are willing and capable of work but unable to find suitable paid employment and those who have voluntarily left work (Word Bank 1998). People can be unemployed for many reasons: -They quit their position and are looking for a new one. -They were laid off due to lack of work and haven't yet been rehired. -Their company reduced the work force, and they are seeking a new position. This can be due to a local condition, when the company closes a plant or division, or a national condition, when the economy slows and many companies reduce their work force. -They have recently returned to the work force - perhaps from pregnancy or attending school - and haven't yet located a position. -The need for their skill set has gone down, and there are limited positions available, which may lead to unemployment until they train for a new position. -Technology has reduced the need for their type of position. -The popular one in the country is graduate unemployment. 3 WAYS TO SECURE A JOB. YOU WAIT FOR IT This is when you are unemployed due to any of the reasons I mentioned above and you decide to wait for that moment when a company, institution, government parastatal, organization or others will declare a vacancy/vacancies open for a particular position/positions before you can now apply as a job seeker. In this case, particularly in Nigeria where there is a high rate of competition; the chance of being recruited is base on how outstanding you are or you know the oga at the top. Do you know why many of you don't get recruited is because you seek for the job as if you are pleading and desperate for it not as if you are the best candidate for the job and if they did not condider you, they will be loosing the impact of your input. YOU ASK FOR IT This is when you are unemployed due to any of the reasons I mentioned above and you decide to approach the company of your choice, seeking for a particular position that is not vacant or advertised at the time of approach and submit to the administration a write-up or proposal proving that you can perform better than the person handling it. Your write-up or proposal is not a plead but a prove of assurance that contains the solution to a particular weakness of the company showing that you know what to do in bringing an improved result in a particular/total area probably in sales, targeted market, competition and so on. Before you approach the company, you must have make research on the company profile, operational cost, sales report, market, mode of operation, administrative policies, products/services, customer satisfaction/feedback, competitors, business strength, business environment, areas where they are incurring unnecessary cost and so on. Identify their major weaknesses that is affecting the company, formulate a suitable solution to the weakness and present it as a write-up or proposal to the company's administration. Every company want to expand their market and if your proposal is the best solution for it, they will consider it in exchange for the job slot. YOU START IT This is when you are unemployed due to any of the reasons I mentioned above and you decide to create one by starting up a business. Any business requires a capital but with a good business idea, you can figure out how to organize the capital, affordable labour and other necessary things. People don't see those good business opportunity around them because they are obsessed about getting a job. For the unemployed going into business, i keep discouraging them from taking loan from the bank because there is always an alternative. You should also know that Nigeria investors don't like paper work. They like realities. So put together your business idea, sought out a mean to start with the implementation and then approach an investor/investors. Investors are not gods but rich/influence people with extra saving or people that can access fund and are willing to invest it.

Very nice write ups... My advise to young entrepreneurs is no matter the business you want to go into, just be very careful. Most businesses especially the existing ones have a very intresting secrets for you to succeed in them. For instance, I see where they listed cat fish farming as a very lucrative biz, but also I have seen someone who was into the biz but couldnt continue it because there is more to it than just some google write ups. Before you start any existing biz in nija make sure you know someone who is making a good profit from it that is willing to teach you every step of the way. Thanks again to the authors, very encouraging 2 Likes |

OP you stated that it's totally free, but reply me thus via email : From Uzuazomaro A. U. justbix2014@gmail.com It involves the sourcing of the product from locations where it is sold cheaply and sell to big buyers; the profit margin is quiet high when u place it side by side with other businesses. Buyers are available both locally and internationally. The information regarding where to source the produce and to whom to sell to is sufficiently addressed in a guide that I have painstakingly put together. The guide costs #3,000. |

Nigeria Unemployment Rate 2015 Unemployment Rate in Nigeria increased to 9.90 percent in the third quarter of 2015 from 8.20 percent in the second quarter of 2015. Unemployment Rate in Nigeria averaged 11.45 percent from 2006 until 2015, reaching an all time high of 23.90 percent in the fourth quarter of 2011 and a record low of 5.30 percent in the fourth quarter of 2006. Unemployment Rate in Nigeria is reported by the National Bureau of Statistics, Nigeria. I keep wondering why National Bureau of Statistics is giving us wrong statistics because on the street of Nigeria only One out of Ten has a well paid/stable job, two out of the remaining nine is on part time jobs, two out of the remaining 7 is engaged in casual/labour jobs and the remaining 5 is jobless. |
