It's not just the issue of the shiites, on so many levels buhari's silence is portraying him as a failing leader. Here are some: 1. The 6 months it took to form a cabinet: No one has yet explained to us why it took so long. 2. The Chibok girls issue is no longer given even lip service. 3. The present crushing fuel scarcity does not even seem to be a matter of concern to Aso Rock. I believe Nigerians deserve some explanations, heck even excuses would suffice. 4. The free falling naira against the dollar, and the free wheeling economy warrant some sort of assurances from government. So far not a word. 5. The shiite massacre and the whereabouts of El Zakzaky. PMB needs to make a nationwide statement to calm nerves. Information and assurances are the very least we expect of a leader, but sadly PMB is giving endless weapons to his detractors to reinforce their dissent. Someone needs to wake this man up to his responsibilities. 6 Likes |

Let's give him time, he will speak about it to foreign media when next he travels. Why are we expecting too much, has Buhari ever spoken to us directly since he relocated to Aso Rock? 2 Likes |

sweatlana:non-violent you say did you watch the video? Carrying cutlasses knives and the rest but what stopped them from letting the COAS to pass then continue with what ever it is that's so important to them that they are doing sef? Not like chairs or speakers was on the road that will make it so difficult for them cos they have to move stuff from the road just like that! Abeg go and ask what it means to be the chief of army staff. if that man had turned back enh You and i will never have peace again in this country #fact 1 Like |

I'm one of PMB's staunchest supporters but he disappointed me in this one. I'm beginning to have the sense that he is what people accuse him of, A bigot! I have a feeling that because he is Sunni his WAHHABIST sentiments got the better of him because the massacre happened to Shittes. I know some sunnis who were happy about the massacre but also know some who are more human and felt human blood should not be wasted in this way no matter what. In fact, one sunni told me he regretted voting PMB. Whatever the issue, how can 1000 people die in your country and you did not utter a single statement of regret? I can't imagine any of the western Presidents do that. Question is, Is the Chief of Army staff's movement worth more than the blood of 1000 people? I know that a western country's General would turn back rather than engage in mindless massacre of his own citizens. Even if someone shot at the Army Chief as the Army alleged, How is it that their use of minimum force resulted in 1000 deaths. How's that for a collateral damage for returning fire to neutralize threats? How come after the Army Chief had passed, soldiers returned there with more reinforcements to continue the killing and even demolished houses? I thought the matter was just about mere passage of the Army Chief. Only 100 people died in the last terrorist attack in France and the entire world was outraged and there were outpourings of condolences here and there but here, 1000 slaughtered by our own Army and yet, NO WORD from our President. Too BAD! 6 Likes 1 Share |

kay29000: Yes I have seen the video. Did you see any killing in the video? No! A lot happened from the point where the edited video ended and the killing. How do you explain the demolition of Zak zaky ' house the second day? Don't be fooled. Buhari ordered that killing because he is sunni. And why hasn't he addressed the nation on the killings 2 Likes |

kay29000:Does this justify the army's actions. we are talking about the lives of even women and children here. must Ur support for APC overshadow Ur sense of reasoning . First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me. 2 Likes |

Some people think that military men have all the right to kill at will. They do not know that the law empowers only the police to deal with the civilians. The soldiers actions against civilians remain illegal anytime any day. For the sake of those who do not understand how the law operates, what the army needed to do when the shiites blocked the road was to retreat and invite the police to help them clear the road. The police will use tear gas and other equipment used in dispersing a mob. The army will think that people will look down on them if they call police for assistance but they should be professional in their duties irrespective of people's misinformed opinion about them. That is why they undergo some trainings. They are expected to play according to the rules of engagement. 5 Likes |

I really doubt if there are intelligent minds on NL these days, so you expect the president to address the nation on any trivial issue that comes up. After the relevant authorities concerned have done the needful, you still want him to hold a press conference to explains the military actions to the world. For ones, people should reason like intellectuals and not br unreasonable blinded by their political affiliations. The office of the presidency is a dignified one, some issues such as this are beneath the office of the presidency. The Military headquarters and the Concerned state government have done the needful. If you are not satisfied.... the court is available drag the FG to court God bless Nigeria |

military issue can ever be a sensitive issue, imagine obstructing army chief and u expect d retired army chief to take side in such situation? that can be dangerous to Nigeria security situation. He wouldn't do DAT to avert d wrath of army, and even Shiite populace in Nigeria |

kay29000: So that is your justifucation for the massacre. We are talking of people being killed because ". ..the army begged to pass" .Is this the animal kingdom you wished for Nigeria. And do you sincerely believe the video you watched is unedited? The initial tread of the video showed a mob that was completely unguided and behaved like animals without brain but the reaction of the army showed they are worse than the mob itself. People said the army killed like that because they are trained to kill and not behave civil and I thought they should have demonstrated that training starting with their family members at home by killing them all at the slightest provocation. |
