This bbok's particular story line was based on events in the North and it was centered on a particular beauty Queen in the North and one particular character.

It was about love - I read it when I was 11 ,can't remember the story line anymore ,all I've got in my head is nothing but vivid images of my imagination of the story but certainly not these two you mentioned.
