The Passport Of Mallam Illia. El kanemi's daughter, where the king made men fight for his daughter's hand.

*my signature reads "cis vis pacem parabellum, translation, "if you want peace, prepare for war".
Goddammit bro! you're good.

I love that book and it made me abandon my other books and of course you've got to hide and read adult books. grin

That's the title - ''The Passport Of Mallam Illia'' it was provocative and the suspense was just something out of this world.

Did you finish it?

2. confession of an economic hitman by john perkins

I've read nos. 1, 2 and 5.

I think The Jero Plays, The Boy Slave, An African Night Entertainment, Arrow Of God, The Joys Of Motherhood, Our Husband Has Gone Mad Again, The Drummer Boy, The Virtuous Woman, and one novel like that about Akpan's travails with smugglers which features a one-eyed Sunday should also make the list.

5. Nigerian constitution

Nigeria has had a series of constitutions. The current constitution was enacted on 29 May 1999, the constitution was converted into ebooks and apps for java, blackberry and android users, thereby making more people have access to it and many Nigerians reading it.

The concubine, yes
Great pond, no

Did the story line of the 'concubine' touch your emotions ?

How did you feel when you read that book?

At a point I hated Ekwueme for showing such weakness and emotions over a woman but at a point I pitied him that he had to go all through that simply because he was in love ? Because I don't even understand what love was back then until I got myself a girlfriend two years after I read that book. grin

What was your perception and the mental image you had about Ekweme or Ekwueme?

Abu, a poor man was deprived of a girl he loved, zainobe, who was married off to a rich man. In his anger, he went far away from home to seek revenge which he was able to administer trough Kyauta, the son of the rich man.

I was raised by a teacher. Books and tv were all I ever knew when I was a kid.

Does that answer your question?

The drummer boy was another great book of inspiration written by Ekwensi.

That guy was good.

May his gentle soul rest in the bosom of the Lord - He gave us knowledge and wisdom in it's purest form undiluted.

I guess you mean The Potter's Wheel by Cyprian Ekwensi.
The Concubine was probably the best African novel I've read. And how can i forget The Second Dream (can't remember the author now), The Creator of Horror by Steve Umeadi ( remembering it alone brings tears to my eyes), Isara by Wole Soyinka, The Beautiful Ones Are Not Yet Born, The African Child and many more. Unfortunately I don't have a copy of most of these novels again even though I bought them with the little I saved as a student...............Reminisce of the good old days
