There was no instruction to celebrate His birth in the scripture but it wasn't written anywhere too that there was a law against it or that it was a sin.
When Jesus was born,the bible records that three wise men came to visit him and brought gifts of gold,frankisense and myrrh.The question is who told them to bring those stuffs?Was it in the law of Moses?
You see things like this are not expressly stated and that is why God gave us His Spirit and the liberty we have in Him.
The most important thing is that it's not a sin.
