Stop being sentimental, it happens in all awards. Moreover when it comes to content, Lil kesh songs are always shallow.

Olamide is an exception not the rule. And 5 years ago, and even now, Olamide's lyrics are still ok when you listen to his albums (at least I have all on my system).

Yesterday, I listened to P Square's Omoge Mi album. Truth is, I almost cried because I was nostalgic about all the songs. I even left what I was doing to sing, dance and mime Temptation.

The truth is, good music and lyrics would trump beats and hits in the long run any time any day. And that's one of the reasons that Asa is currently Nigeria's best export at the moment in the industry. Or should I remind you that she once won the Next Rated award too with only Adaba as the single she had released at that time?

Let me ask a simple question; which massive Hit have you heard from R. Kelly in the last 3 years? If none comes to mind, go pick up copies of his last 3 albums (minus Black Panties) and you'll weep for the Nigerian music industry.

Eni-duro where he was spitting fire & brim-stone....moreover, I'd say Dagrin laid a very strong foundation for the industry to accept Olamide esp after his death although there had been yoruba rappers like lord of ajasa. But Olamide started out as a Fierce Rapper! Over the years he tasted success, with constant release, he switched to sinnging....which is what phyno is now doing with Konnect & Nnu-nnu! Phyno came out strong lyrics but he is collaboing with almst everybody, lyrics don dey finish for mouth, so na sinnginng things......Lil kesh didn't come out with any strong lyrics, its all dirty!
